i had this happen to me about 3 yrs ago i had fees taken out by republic bank what they did was mail me out the check instead of sending it back to the irs and they sent it over night. if you are having fees taken out contact the bank now to inform them dont wait until last minute and let them them that you was off by one number and can they just mail the check to you if they cant correct the account number more than likely they cant because they have to send it to the account that was listed within the irs system but they can mail it out instead

Just one quick question? As far as fees deducted does that mean like the tax preparer fees or government fees?

It depends on your bank. If the routing number you gave is correct then it will go to your bank…what they do with it depends on them. I worked for a small local bank and worked “unposted items” every morning. The deposit should come in with your name and most of the account so it will be very easy for the bank to find the correct account number…but if it’s a larger chain bank they may not have the time to do this.

                    Call your bank and ask.

If you had fees deducted, you can change your acct # with that third party bank (if it’s not deposited yet). If already deposited, then most likely it will get rejected by the bank and it will return to the third party bank and then they will mail you a check.

If no fees deducted, the bank will reject the deposit from the US treasury and they will mail you a check.

It will take 1-3 weeks to receive your check.
