      So I filed on 1/23 accepted that day had 1 bar until about 3weeks ago now it just says ” we received your refund, your refund is still being processing it.” Well I finally called today & the rep told me it says a letter was sent out basically saying they were gonna do further processing .. never got it I told her and she placed me on hold. She told me she didn’t see anything and too keep checking online & if I didn’t receive my refund by march 14 call back & says it’s been over 45 days . First time ive ever filed or even did my own taxes so it’s very nerve racking. I was able to order both my transcripts online though.. anyone ever went through this?

          Attempted to order transcript online, phone number not associated with my name (under husband’s) waiting for instructions, 5-10 days in the mail.

            Are you able to order your transcript online? Account transcript can tell you what kind of letter based on the codes !!

              Called the IRS yesterday again, they said I’m still being reviewed but a letter was sent out recently. The agent couldn’t tell me what kind of letter. Now I’m waiting for my mail.

                  Filed 1/17, accepted 1/17 – PATH message up until 2/18 then switched to “refund is being processed”. Called and found out I would be getting a CP05 letter. Apparently the income I reported was incorrect and I overstated by $2,000 (which means more refund for me). While that is all well and good, I cannot figure out why if they have determined all of this, I’m still in a holding pattern. Very frustrating. I’m just hoping that I’ll receive my refund soon. Oh, and I was told CP05 letter was going out 2/14. Apparently that was incorrect. When I called back in today, was told the CP05 letter would actually have a date of 3/13. So as of 2/14 they knew that letter would go out and they date it for a month later?? That’s really crappy, they are sure taking their sweet time.

                    I filed 01/23 accepted 01/23 my current path message is still processing , I received my review letter. 02/01 but no updates have been given. I have called to the IRS numerous times and they tell me the same thing . “I need to wait 60 days from the date I received the letter” blah blah blah . I went ahead and ordered my transcripts and on my transcripts its stating basically the money I was approved is wrong and it also had that I claimed some things that I never put on my return. I verified the information when I was filing my taxes and didn’t see anything that was wrong so im not understanding what happened during processing. This is so making my head hurt.

                            They probably just caught it recently. Takes them a while to sift through and cross-reference.

                              @thatgirlispoison

                              I filed 2/3 and was accepted the same day. PATH message until 2/15 then to the generic “being processed”.

                              I didn’t want to call because my 21 days weren’t up. Last night I logged into my MA state refund tracker and saw my state refund being offset for a past due amt from 2012?!

                              I called the irs today and he guy was really nice. Apparently I owe federal from 2012. I THINK I still have some state leftover (although not much haha) and he said as soon as the federal applies the offset my refund date will post.

                              I’m so irritated and confused as to how a debt could continue from 5 years ago with no notice, letter, NOTHING.

                              So now I go back to waiting….

                                    did you call the number and check for offsets? they do that a lot if you owe something. Also could have made a mistake somewhere, maybe someone claimed one of your kids? too many variables that cause that. those are just some of the reasons i had mine held up. This is why I have a CPA do mine everytime. worth every cent.
