This is why, there is absolutely NO point in calling the IRS to try to obtain info on when we are getting our money. Take 50 callers, 50 different responses from reps. They don’t care about our money. I would believe them more so if out of 50, at least 10 were the same answers. This just sucks, period.

Hi All,
I just called the number and my wait time was 2 minutes , which I found odd but anyhow I expected hours, lol. I was told,
Your account looks good and there are no indicators of holds or anything, to which I replied I didn’t think I had any I just wanted to be sure.
I was then told that I had no DDD however things were processed and WMR would be updating tonight with more information and through the end of the month.
Well blanket response I guess, but at least it was a nice guy I talked with.
I just want to hear about anyone getting a refund even if its not me. This will sort of let us know something is being done.
Ugh the wait!!

Sooo. I’m pretty happy about the agent I just spoke with. He was awesome.
Filed 2/4 with Jackson Hewitt
Lost bars and got path message around the 8th.I was worried because 3 years in a row I was selected to ID Verify. I called hoping to get info.. He was awesome no bs. Said I didn’t have any flags for anything but my refund is on hold?
I assume it’s being held because of Path.. So that doesn’t bother me. However the weight he took off my shoulders by just telling me everything else was fine. I wish all agents could be so helpful.
It’s not a Ddd but it’s still some relief.
Meanwhile my state did get ID flag! Any idea how long that takes?

According to ‘Mrs Phillips” at the IRS, it doesn’t matter if you have an acceptance from the IRS prior to opening day (I received my 1st bar 1/20 & PATH 1/28), it doesn’t mean anything. It doesn’t matter if you can order a return transcript, it doesn’t mean anything. If you receive the IRS Newswire emails and read them, they don’t mean anything.
When I asked about my return transcript to use for a FAFSA application for my sons’ school…she told me I was gonna have to just wait.
SUPER HELPFUL. -

Ya’ll need to stop listening to these temp. employees and just pay attention to what’s going on. Funds are being released. They’re saying the 27th because they don’t want to give people an excuse to call and complain before then…same EXACT reason they tell people to wait 21 days. We’ll see DD’s tomorrow, and DDD’s through WMR. Just…don’t waste your time calling. It’s like the whisper game.

Still can’t order transcript with my new address. But I called the IRS today and verified with my new address that was on my return and he said there’s no return filed for 2016????
But wmr says otherwise. Anybody know what going on? -

Exactly @Carrie
I have also been on other post today, and I saw some “PATHers” have pending deposits with H&RBLOCK and a few other ones. I saw another post where one” PATHer” called H&RBLOCK and was told they will start seeing money on the 16th and 18th…
Not sure how true that is because I did not file with H&RBLOCK, but that is just what I am seeing. -
February 15, 2017 at 1:13 pm #4171529
@kourtnee what you said makes the most sense. They are gonna tell everyone the 27th no matter what. But I think a lot will get $ before then. They say the 27th in case their are any issues. This is their 1st year dealing with the PATH Act so they have kinks to work out too!
-
February 15, 2017 at 1:10 pm #4171522iiKryptic
ATTN: For everyone saying us PATHers wont see refunds until the 27th. This is just an assumption, but I believe it to be their generic answer. Think a few years back when the message was always 21 days. Most of us NEVER had to wait 21 days in fact I remember seeing my refunds in less than 10 days.
-
February 15, 2017 at 1:07 pm #4171517AndriaC
What are they calling early PATHers? I filed on Jan 30th. Also WMR has no update but their IRS website did allow me to order transcripts… is this possibly a good sign?

I see on a different page where TONS of people who called the IRS last week to ask questions about their refund all ended up being flagged, and sent letters saying they needed to prove identity to be processed. I dont know about you all, but Im good on all that. Ill just sit and wait. even if it’s driving me crazy
-
February 15, 2017 at 12:20 pm #4171444Kourtnee
****Correction****
If our date says the 18th, and it is not disbursed by then, that could cause issues. So they are giving everyone the 27th date(which is the last date that the early PATHers will be sent…) Even though it may come earlier…. -
February 15, 2017 at 12:16 pm #4171439Kourtnee
From my understanding, the 27th date is given to us “PATHers” so if it doesn’t come, we will not keep calling. The 27th is the last date for the PATH acts to be distributed.
That’s what I was told……
I’m not sure what to believe :-( -
February 15, 2017 at 12:15 pm #4171434
This is why I don’t bother the IRS. I would be black listed forever. No matter how many folks call, its called customer service, b@*!h we provide your paycheck. I would make them feel so little no-one would ever want a call from my number, hahaha!
-
February 15, 2017 at 12:06 pm #4171362
I know this is totally of topic here, but can anyone point in the right direction on how to get my transcript?
-
February 15, 2017 at 12:00 pm #4171400Jessica
Just spoke to someone. She was nice, but explained that no one with the EITC/ACTC will get refunds until the week of Feb 27TH and that we all should be updated with dates tomorrow via the WMR website. It doesn’t help anyone to get mad and bent out of shape about this, It’s not the IRS employees fault so I treat them with respect and kindness because after all they may be in the same boat as us. Spread kindness!

Just FYI, those affected by path will not receive refund until February 27th (according to a turbo tax email just received, who received this info from the irs itself). Just sit tight and be patient everyone.

Okay, so I started asking questions about an issue I had last year where I now owe the IRS $1200. She looked up my SS# and told me the debt would automatically be paid from my return this year. Then I asked what the balance I was getting would be…she said that she couldn’t tell me that info because it has not paid out yet, she said to call back Friday once my refund was processed. I said you guys haven’t processed my return yet? She said the RETURN was processed, but the refund is in line waiting to process. So I aksed if I had been approved and she said yes. There are over 14 Million returns sitting in line waiting to be assigned a refund. So I’m taking this as a good thing.

The reps that are answering the phone come from a temp agency or a call center that is hired to temporarily take care of calls through filing season.
IRS Agents do not answer phones and give out information.
These people are given a handbook, a few hours of training and told to get you off of the phone. You are not going to get accurate information from them. Stop calling.

February 15, 2017 at 10:05 am #4171167NeedInfo
Sometimes your going to get someone nice who will check but you for sure can tell a nasty rep within 25sec so if you do its best not to be rude back just hang up and then call back also some will seem like there giving you real answer but honestly they haven’t even keyed in your info so how would they know right?
Like i said these people are the worst and congress cant get these guys in line…that said being this is the highest call volume of the year till after this upcoming Tuesday they will say anything to get anyone off the phone.
Trust me guys your better off making sure there are no errors on WMR or letters in the mail box that’s it till next Wednesday.

@needinfo….that is exactly what happened to me this morning. Filed 2/2, one bar, no path….wanted info on my trans and of course the tax refund. Right off the bat, mean n nasty and told me that I don’t need the transcript for school. I explained bout fafsas n saw where this was headed and told her thank you n I would try later. She didn’t check on anything.. #fedup

So many conflicting stories!! Seems like each rep says something different. The only hope is that you get a nice one who goes off the “script” :(
SO frustrating -
February 15, 2017 at 9:54 am #4171154NeedInfo
My advice is also if they dont look into your info and your not hearing keys being typed then there for sure giving you a bs answer so just hang up and call again.
-
February 15, 2017 at 9:53 am #4171153JOVI
@Lauren yes it seems so. I think they have no idea what they are doing. They are just telling everyone the same thing to get them off the phone. The funny thing about all of this is both ladies I have spoken with this morning were trying to tell me about my return without even asking me one bit of information about me. Do they get your information from your phone when you call in or are they just trying to blow smoke up our butts?

February 15, 2017 at 9:51 am #4171150AC
I just spoke to a woman who said that returns for anyone will not even start processing until today. I told her I already had a transcript ordered and was accepted as part of a test batch accepted on January 13th. I asked if she could look at my account info and give me any information that is listed there. She refused and stuck to her script. She told me that I’d just have to wait like everyone else. I think I may be doing some emailing of my local state reps and senators. I’m all for preventing fraud, but the path act (according to many online reliable news outlets the past day or two) has hurt business as a whole already. Hopefully we’ll have updates – and good ones at that – by tomorrow.

This is the highest call volume time of the year without path and yes there going to say every thing under the sun to get you off the phone…there going to hang up on you there going to scare you.
Give it till after next Wednesday to even call also my advice is if you suspect there rude or hostile in the first 25 seconds just hang up and call again and trust me it will be worth it.

@doug experiencing call centers in my past they usually give people a script, and the people you talk to have little to do with the operations of the product your calling about most of the time you just BS to get people off the phone.
Not sure if that’s how the IRS works but it sure seems like it. -
February 15, 2017 at 9:40 am #4171127Doug
The funniest thing is that everyone’s post is conflicting. Do these reps even know what they are talking about?
-
February 15, 2017 at 9:36 am #4171124Lauren
@Jovi sounds like they hired a call center to say random things to people LOL

I just spoke with a B%^%$#@ at the irs and she asked me all kinds of questions about things I already knew. I told her I needed to speak to someone about my transcript because I do not know how to read it. She said your transcript for this year is not available yet. I told her I had it sitting right here in front of me. She said no it is not your return is not processed as of yet. I told her yes ma’am my return was processed on the 13th per irs rep on Monday. She said I don”t know that. I told her I did so she then proceeded to tell me ok I do not need your smart remarks. I told her I am not giving you smart remarks I am telling you I already have my transcript and know my return was processed on Monday and that is not being smart. She said fine have a good day and hung up on me. So now i am in waiting to speak to another one.
How can they sit there and tell me about my return if she did not even ask me for my Social or even my name. -
February 15, 2017 at 9:30 am #4171112Lauren
I spoke with a Mr. Grady, he was very nice. He said some refunds will begin being issued by the treasury today. And most Path affected returns should be refunded by Feb 27th. They are not going out by the order they were received, but in the order that they were processed. So even though I filed on the 20th, I didn’t process until Feb 2nd. He said I have not been issued a DDD yet, but my return is finished, just waiting in a queue to go out for a refund. He also said not to expect any change on WMR until Saturday Morning for anyone.
-
February 15, 2017 at 9:29 am #4171111Beth
Spoke to a representative today, they stated that WMR will not update until after midnight today and that they can’t give any info because WMR updates before their actual systems.
-
February 15, 2017 at 9:26 am #4171100Robert
I forgot to add that she also told me that transcripts for 2016 are not going to be processed until June as I am unable to order an online transcription because my “information doesn’t match what we have on record.”
-
February 15, 2017 at 9:26 am #4171099Lee Nicole
I hope we get some helpful information, IRS reps should not conduct themselves that way , considering the fact that I am a rep myself. My transcript states a processing date of 02/20- have no idea what that mean but we shall see!
-
February 15, 2017 at 9:25 am #4171098Robert
I talked to an IRS rep just now. She told me that EITC and ACTC credits are just being released today. She also said that I will not see a deposit until at the very least the 27th or a couple days after.
-
February 15, 2017 at 9:23 am #4171093Lee Nicole
I was told a few minutes ago that those of us who claimed EITC are all under review. She seemed pretty annoyed but I already knew that we’re all getting reviewed , that was the whole point of the delay ……
-
February 15, 2017 at 9:22 am #4171092kelly
I don’t know what I am. I have path and according to transcripts had a process date 2/13/17 cycle code20170405

I called today spoke to a gentleman who extremely rude. He said did you read the message on WMR. I said yes I did he said well if you read it then you would know that we are not processing any refunds with EITC/ ACTC until today. He also stated that the 21 days start today for processing. 😡😡😡😡
Don’t know how true that is because my transcripts say 2/13/2017 as a processing date. I dunno he really just irritated me. And then he hung up on me lol -
February 15, 2017 at 8:48 am #4171034Kourtnee
I called and was given no useful information. I asked about the PATH act and what it actually means. The rep told me it means nothing and wait for letters in the mail. He also said only check WMR tool once a week because it doesn’t change that much, he said don’t order transcripts because it doesn’t tell you anything, and then he said you could still be audited if you have not received a letter yet….he said they are sending them out through the 27th.
I don’t believe a thing he said……
I hope someone else got a rep who was more helpful…….
