I noticed that there are still a mass of people that have not updated, any thoughts it’s because of the snow storms in Texas?

I live in NC and receive IRS correspondence from Texas, too. My return was accepted on 2/10 with no other updates. Just N/A on my transcript

If this is the case, the IRS should say something about it so people are not left in the dark as to whats going on with their returns.

I live in Houston Texas and was effected by the storm but I already got my refund last Wednesday. I looked on WMR this morning and I still only have one bar.

Hnnn I’ve seen that on another post on here. Something about the processing centers and some were being rerouted because the IRS closed down some centers. But IDK…

I have heard that theory, also. I know Austin, Texas is one of the processing centers for several states and that the power outage could have delayed updates for those states. I almost hope so because I am one who has not updated.

Only for some states. As was incorrectly posted in another thread that all southern states are processed in Austin, they’re not. Florida goes to Texas but Georgia and Alabama go to Kansa City, MO. Whether electronic or mailed, each state has a designated processing center that returns are routed to. You can look it up on the IRS page to see which state goes where.

Why would a snow storm in one state affect taxes for everyone in the United States?

Some people have been saying that because of some areas of Texas losing power that’s why I asked.

Why would that affect a federal automated system ?
