My return was “unpostable” but issue was fixed and was closed on 2/15. Has anyone had this happen and if so how long did it take to get your refund? Agent said he needs to say 6-8 weeks but said it should be sooner. just wondering if anyone has experience with this. Thanks.

@amra I’m sure that is fine, especially since that’s the account it has gone into every year. It seems any change is triggering something this year. I’m wishing I had never filed with my correct name. For all these years my accountant filed using my maiden name and married name which by rights should have resulted in it being rejected. My name on my SS card was changed 23 years, yes 23 years ago. This year I did my own taxes and filed with my legal married correct name and it got flagged. lol I would have filed with the same name my accountant always did but honestly forgot. The agent couldn’t even believe it’s gone thru all these years.

LOL!! @stalking WMR.
I am a little stress case myself. My DDD is tomorrow but thhen I have been reading posts that say those that file jointly but have their refund going to an account with only the head filers name on it have had their banks reject it.
He has had the same bank for years and we have always filed and gotten our return deposited to his account.
But this year it seems like that may be a problem. I will be on edge until tomorrow.. -

Well that would actually make me feel better. Someone told me you should be able to get account transcripts then soon after return transcripts and then a DDD. I have no knowledge of transcripts, never even heard of getting them before last week. I have filed my tax returns for the past 25 years and waited for the refund and never had a problem until now. I am know filled with useless knowledge, half of which is probably wrong. Lol Thanks for your help. I guess it’s back to stalking WMR.

Thank you @amra. I hope you’re right. I’d have thought that I’d at least be able to get account transcripts by now.

I do not know why that was said but I would definately file jointly because you get the largest deduction. that way.
I think the problem this year was just some little glitch in the IRS system. -

@amra thank you I did call again, all they did was verify that it was closed on 2/15 and it could take 6-8 weeks etc. I’m to the point where I’m reading the IRS manual. Lol it seems the 6-8 week answer comes from when they have to investigate the problem, but mine is known and fixed.

Why should I not file joint next year?

Ok I think I understand now.
If it is still set to be DD into your bank account then I would take it like the day you called was the day they started actually processing.
It took a full week for mine to be accepted.. If it would give you some piece of mind call them again and double check.

No, they said my return was not able to be posted to the system because of my name. The system was picking up my maiden name- married name, and I only filed with my married name. My married name is my legal name and matches the name on my SS card. The agent verified with SSA that yes my name did match and closed the case and said it could and would be processed. That was a week ago. I still can’t order either transcript. I was just hoping to see some actual proof that it was processing now.

Was it rejected by your bank?
