Phone call was not promising 20190505

So I finally got through to a live agent after holding for 25 minutes.

She tells me it will be until the 27th. They are holding the credits I received until the 27th. So I ask her, “Well are all people with these credits delayed,” and she says she can’t speak for all people, but “just for my record.” She then states that my return isn’t even done yet, but that if I have monies owed that are not part of the credits, that these may be refunded before the 27th, but there is not a date set yet. At this point, I’m confused. So I ask if that means my refund could come in multiple deposits and she says yes.

NO clue what’s actually happening here or how valid this information was. Hoping she was incorrect. I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone.

For the record, I’m a pather, cycle code 20190505, and processing date 02/18/2019.

State of Ga is doing multiple deposits…..i gott 700 for “other” in my account already but they sent letter for my sched c to be uploaded before they send the credits (the larger portion) so who knows anymore.

They are posting on FB that Transcripts update tonight between 9pm-12am. This is hear say so don’t hold me to it. Hoping they do as I just checked and mine hasn’t updated yet but it’s not 9 yet. The only reason they’d do multiple deposits is if a particular area was affected. Like your W2 section was correct but your credits were not. They may release one code at a time. Although it’s rare, it’s laid out on your transcript what they’re able to release.

Hang tight!!! I was in your shoes up until 2/16 when I received my update with a DDD of 2/22. Sounds like a generic msg they’re giving everyone to prevent the overhaul of phone calls that have been pouring in. My sister and I filed at the same time and she still has yet to receive her DDD. It’s coming though… I’m sure if it. Between tomorrow and Saturday I believe 90% of those on here will see updates, or at least I hope but it’s really something I believe.

The guy I spoke to was really nice, he didn’t try to rush me, he even invited me to call back if I didn’t receive my refund by the 27th. He told me that WMR is having intermittent outages and isn’t properly updating for some people. I did get a little piece of information that I hadn’t heard before, PATH filers were not processed before the 15th, apparently, because of all of the new tax laws and the shut down, when those credits were found, the return was set aside until the 15th. I don’t know how accurate that is, I only report the news, I don’t make it, but it kind of makes sense with the weird things that are happening.

I filed mine and my friend’s on 1/29. Both PATH, both EIC and ACTC. She got a DDD Saturday night for 2/22. So when you filed doesn’t matter either. This year is the craziest I’ve seen.

Same here talked to a rep that said mine was complete but I have the stupid PATH hold no DDD yet but i should see a deposit before the 27th. I can pretty much assume now that the IRS has no order they are going in this year other than it looks like those that filed in January are on hold those that filed later have DDD smdh!

She couldn’t even tell my why I no bars and just a generic message. I will never file on opening date again bc the ppl who filed after me have DDD’s. It’s going on 22+ something days

Same credits, (mainly education, small EIC, and child tax), for years. Same kids. Same house. I asked if anything was wrong or what was going on and she said there’s nothing “going on” (she emphasized this), but that the IRS is holding these credits until the 27th. At that point, I was just angry and knew I wanted to get off the phone so I asked her a few more questions, thanked her for her time, and got off the line.

I hope you’re right. My transcripts have been complete for a while… with the exception of the 846 code. I filed on the 28th. No weird shit or grey area here. So frustrated right now.

As disheartening as that phone call was, keep in mind that you’re likely speaking to a call center temp who knows exactly FA about how this whole thing works. Most of them either paraphrase what’s written on WMR or just invent something from whole cloth. It happens every single year and gets exponentially worse after President’s Day.

Well MM, sounds like you my have gotten a generic answer from a seasonal employee. I know this year is wacky but I have been a pather since the beginning and have never waited until the 27th. Also my refunds have never been split up, always just a lump sum.
