Hey guys,

Hope everyone is having luck with receiving their tax refunds and stimulus checks. I have a question, if anyone has an idea of what the answer may be.

My 2020 tax return was fully processed when I checked Friday morning (the 12th). I know that was the morning the first stimulus checks went out. My “Get my payment” status is currently not available, but my brother’s is also the same status and he is eligible based on his 2019 taxes (he hasn’t filed his 2020 yet). My 2019 return would make me ineligible for the stimulus but my 2020 one will make me eligible, so I’m hoping they will go off my 2020 tax return. What do you guys think?

Filed my 2020 return thru JH and got advance. I had to amend my return with verification from bank that nvr received full pmt for my dependent on 1st n 2nd stimulus. So was wondering if this may be the reason why my 3rd stimulus is taking so long. I had my grandson on 2018 & 2019 and 2020. I’m stumped. Could my bank info be confusing had netspend for first 2 n JH SERVE card for 2020 taxes.

@Johnyhasagun our 2020 has not been processed yet. We just updated yesterday for the first time since being accepted. There are a few people on here that still have 2020 processing that have received their stimulus. All info was pulled off of 2019.

Okay so there is another thread of Chime users saying they received a stimulus check today, but they usually get it early because of Chime. And last week Friday was when they sent out the first batch, but many people didn’t receive it until this past Wednesday. So hopefully we will see some deposits by this Wednesday?

Y’all may have seen this but wanted to share that on another post a few people have said they do DD on Wednesdays. This would make sense when I look at Stim #2, as my fiance got his and then I got mine exactly a week later. So maybe they send them only once a week…? Just speculation of course.

I bank with SunTrust…got my first and second stimulus to my friend’s bank account.

I filed my 2020 taxes with MY bank account information. I received my tax refund within 2 days, but as of right now, 1044 am – 3/17/2021 ——– no $1,400 stimulus has posted to my account or my friends account – both of us are with SunTrust.

I finally got passed the auto hang up when I call the irs number and I’m now on hold. I just kept pressing random options just to try getting through to a live person. I’m sure they will get pissed about that but they don’t leave us many options when their entire system is set up to redirect us to auto answers.

Like I mentioned before… I strongly believe that if you received the past 2 stimulus and your income is within the thresholds and parameters, you’ll eventually receive it. I think that it hasn’t been processed yet.

I agree with @AGray. There are going to be several waves of dd plus paper checks. Last time, even though the stimulus started in December, it took a month for me to receive mine.

This is speculation of course but I don’t think the status not available message means you have to wait and claim it next year. Because people on here have posted that they have that message but they already got it. I think it’s a system issue and if you have not gotten it, you just were not in the first wave of direct deposits. This isnt the only DD day for stimulus.

Yeah I saw people sign PNC said it just hit. It really seems to vary by the bank. Many other banks have not posted it yet. Just as an example, I’m with suntrust and deposits don’t usually show up until somewhere between 4:00-6:00am.

As far as the WMP tool, someone was told by the irs that it issues at 8am daily (eastern time). I looked a GMP Sunday with my info and saw deposit for 3/17 to my bank account.

This morning I saw the deposit hit…FOR EXACTLY HALF.

Check GMP with hubby’s info and his says CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE.

We’ve filed joint the past 5 years with no issue as well as received the other EIPs to the same bank account (in my name) with no issue so I’m at a loss.

If this is any consolation…. My wife and I take care of my MIL finances. We have not check GMP for her but we did check her bank account. There’s nothing in there that indicates a deposit and she definitely qualifies for the stimulus. Also, last stimulus she got it before us. I’m using that as a measuring stick.

@London I really don’t see why you’re not eligible. If you meet all the criteria, received the previous 2 payments and nothing has changed in terms of your income, you should be able to receive the 3rd one too.

@London it can’t be that you aren’t eligible. Some people have that status but already received a check. It has to be because it isn’t processed yet @Confused call 800-919-9835 it’s the stimulus hotline and should connect you to someone right away – be aware they really only tell you generic information :/

They were quite rude, but assured her that the message just meant that the payment hadn’t been processed yet, and to keep checking the Get My Payment tool. She tried explaining that this is what she was told with the second stimulus and it never came, but the man said that didn’t matter, that this one would come for sure as long as my parents are eligible (which they undoubtedly are).

@janel120 so I just called the number you gave me and I got through to someone, but she told me a lot of generic information. She told me to just keep checking and she couldn’t look into my specific situation to see which tax return they will be going off of. The only thing she confirmed with me is that my stimulus will be based on my 2020 tax return since it’s fully processed (I asked her about 846 code on my transcript and she confirmed this means it is fully processed)

My parents never got their $600 checks, it just kept saying “status not available”. Now it says the same thing for the new payments. They desperately needed this money to come in quickly.

Once you call, you get straight through hold time will probably be long as many are showing the same message as you. Would advise to call soon as the lines are open, and please update. I will do the same.

@janel120 thank you so much @chefavram9 I am praying that we get the stimulus soon! If you check under frequently asked questions on the IRS website, the question “Why am I getting “Payment Status Not Available”? – the answer includes those two reasons you mentioned, but also includes “ We haven’t yet processed your Economic Impact Payment” as one of the reasons.
So hopefully we will be in the second or third round of payments?

Trying not to panic yet. My 2020 was processed with 5 dependents. Transcripts are all available. Both my wife and I say not available or not eligible. However, from what I have been reading. Also I didn’t provide a bank account on 2020 because we owed income tax this year. So I’m hoping we fall into the need more information part of the message (maybe paper check?) I’ve also heard people getting the same message and already have deposits.Can anyone shed some light or offer insight?

No they have a number for stimulus it is 1-800-919-9835 and they should be able to tell you about the stimulus payment. Good Luck.

My says the same thing and I know for a fact I’m eligible so I will wait and see if I get my dd tonight if not will call the hotline in the morning.
