I requested direct deposit and had a ddd of 2/22 and then said they are unable to complete my request so they sent it by mail. My mailed by date is 3/5 when should I be receiving it?

@HatesWaiting, I think most of us had the mailed by 2/26 message and were updated on the 27th that it was mailed on the 26th. I was expecting it to be mailed on the Friday before the 26th because of the articles I read that said the treasury only mailed on fridays. Those were incorrect though. It’s safe to say that you should expect them to mail on the date given in the message. Today for you. Hopefully you update tomorrow for the mailed message! Or better yet, surprisingly recieve in the mail today or tomorrow. Fingers crossed for all you guys waiting for your dollars. I wish we could take it back from the man as fast as he sticks it to us

I live in Oklahoma and received check in 2 days (Thursday 2/28). I hope this helps someone, especially those that live in the states around Missouri.

Seeing as how Philadelphia is much closer than Kansas City for me, Normal 1st Class mailed out by 8PM on the 26th would get here 3/1 according to the USPS Website. So yes I’m expecting Friday/Saturday at the latest for myself.

So this is kind of a subject change but does anyone have experience with code 9001?

This is the second year my son has filed and he got an email from hnr block saying they recieved payment and funds will be deposited within 72 hours. 72 hours passed and nothing…

We looked up his status on wmr and he has a code 9001 with a msg about not being able to retrieve his information. It does show his refund amount but says something about not being the primary.

He did file single, no one else can claim him. His dad had used his SS years ago…hoping his dad is not the reason…heads will roll.

Any info or if you can point me in the direction to find the info it would be much appreciated.

My son did call the irs and got the standard can’t see your info just wait for a letter..blah blah

It seems that the Treasury is cutting/mailing checks on the date the wmr states.

So just a couple of days to go for a 3/1 check date!!!

No updates on WMR.

When a direct deposit rejects, takes the treasury about a week to get it all in their system and then they’ll cut a check. Figure about 2 weeks

I have looked at so many articles and charts all of them show Friday as the only check run date.

Curious where the daily check run came from. Did the OP add a link to the source?

I’ve had informed for a long time and it’s usually about 9:00 am… eastern time zone. However, I just read on the forum on Facebook (same as this page) that checks are sent on the day that it says on WMR and are now mailed 5 days a week. They don’t send on Friday’s only anymore. So it looks like we will get mailed tomorrow and not see it for a few days…. so frustrating. I was supposed to get direct deposit. Nothing wrong all numbers there and we’re fine and was supposed to have TT fees taken out. Not sure what’s going on this year but you would think year after year this would get easier not more difficult.

What you are saying makes sense. I know in the past waiting for a DD the wmr has never updated before the transaction hit the bank.

I think I am just frustrated and worried because I have not received my state refund that was issued 2/5. I always opt for state refund to be mailed and always have it before federal usually mid February. First year not using a tax service – filed myself on turbotax. I am nervous I did something wrong and it is being held….I know ridiculous thinking since both have been processed.

the last time I ever received a paper check from the IRS, it didn’t update until the actual day it stated it would mail or the day after I received it. First time I’d ever heard of it updating timely was the prior poster in this thread, so I took it with a grain of salt. My informed delivery for today doesn’t appear to have any Federal or IRS mailings coming today.

No mobement on the wmr since.

We believe the Treasury cuts paper checks on Fridays.

@justme luckily I was able to do it online. It only shows what gets passed through and scanned when my local Post office receives it for day of delivery.

I tried to set-up the USPS informed delivery and it said they cannot confirm my identity.
I can either request a pin, verify in person or wsit 72 hours.

Everyone getting a mailed check I highly highly recommend signing up for usps informed delivery. I checked everyday until mine was delivered. The envelope doesn’t conceal it well and is obvious that it is a check.

Well, I see. This year is the first year I’ve had the message. But this was the first year I had the actc. It was less than a two hundred dollar credit for me. If I didnt have that credit I wonder if it would’ve qualified for the direct deposit. I had No Eic. Only actc

It’s always greater than 10k but always get direct deposit except for twice now. There has to be some kind of system that pulls people for paper checks. Random maybe, I dont know, wish i did.

You may not see a bar tonight. It may not show up until Sunday or Tuesday Morning on the system. Many people receive their checks before the IRS gets the update. The IRS do not cut the checks or mail them. It’s handled by the Treasury department. IRS sends the info to them. They print, seal and mail them and once that’s done their systems update and send the data back to the IRS and it’s a waiting game for the IRS systems to update.

Correct, they usually print and have paper checks by friday each week from the local Treasury service center. Most people are within 1-3 business days via First Class mail from the centers.

Same here. I filed on 2/5 first year ever getting a path act message and it updated Saturday night to the being mailed by the 26th. I read that they only mail out paper checks on Friday. If so then it would be mailed before the 26th and hopefully received by then. I think the 26th is a Tuesday or Wednesday.
