@Bev. Hmm. The Actc is a refundable credit that you claim on your 1040. It is refundable, so it does generate into your return as cash. It is a line on the 1040, not a separate worksheet like the Eitc. Or, do you mean the Ctc 2021, and that payment summary? Happy to help.

Is your additional child tax credit a part of your refund balance shown on the IRS website?

Update: No movement. Accepted 1/21, 1 bar WMR, transcripts n/a, Pather (Actc, Eitc w/Lookback). I will be eating lots of chocolate the next couple of weeks while I wait.

Oh… And I always equate the “Losing the Bars” to it being 2 bars, because some of us never see the 2 bar step. Especially those of us that are effected by the PATH act.
-

Now for the phases in the waiting game. Phase 1, wait for bars to appear; For me its usually 24 hours after submission… (1 bar = Refund Received). Phase 2, wait for bars to disappear; Usually within the first 7 days… (Que the dreaded PATH act message). Phase 3, bars reappear; This used to be within 7 days, but since PATH started it has been between day 14 and 17 *post bars disappearing*… (3 bars = Refund Sent with DDD).

Ok, so originally I was going to wait until the 15th to file, but decided to submit my taxes today. I figured, why not; and went ahead and did it. I know the rules for those of us whom walk the PATH this year, and since I had nothing else better to do this morning… I went ahead and hit that submit button. A couple of weeks in PATH act jail wouldn’t hurt. I’ve done it since it started back in 2018.

@Nebula. Agree. Except I don’t think the majority of them are trying to be sneaky. Most are confusing the Ctc with Actc. Some believe if they received the advanced Ctc payments last year that they are now Path status. Some also think they are Pathers based on their income, without actually claiming the credit. And some…. have nothing better to do.

It’s amazing how many people want to falsely declare themselves PATHers. There’s nothing fun about waiting until the end of February to get your refund. If by some miracle a TRUE PATHer managed to escape the law, you wouldn’t calmly state: Filed 1/21 Accepted 1/21 DDD 2/2 PATHer. You’d post in all caps with several exclamation points and display utter shock. Y’all aren’t TRUE PATHers, just imposters, lol.

-
January 31, 2022 at 10:27 am #4504653
it appears we wait guys, as per the path act. Feb 15th at earliest. Maybe we will see movement on our transcripts at least.
-
January 31, 2022 at 12:23 am #4504596
I have Eitc but due to income, not claiming any dependent. Assuming I am still a Pather?

PATHer here…
Filed 1/20
Received by IRS 1/21
WMR = one bar (Return Received) on 1/24 (IRS Transcripts says nothing was received yet)
WMR = PATH message on 1/28
1/29 I check IRS transcripts, and IRS has message saying mine are currently unavailable.Hoping the next time I check IRS transcripts I’ll see a DDD and/or processing date.
EDIT: 1/30 Transcripts now show Processing Date of 2/14/2022
Cheers and good luck everyone!

January 30, 2022 at 9:47 am #4504495
Now I got the PATH message on WMR. Transcript still has processing date of Feb. 14, no 846 code.

Anyone else whom claim to get the credit without these terms are trolling and probably are the same ones that come on IGMR every year just to troll and upset those of us whom are walking the PATH, just for kicks and their own sick gratifications. Its like @antsymomof4 said…. No one is above the law, and no one can escape the Feb 15th wait, unless you are not a PATHer or got the Pay advance.
-
January 30, 2022 at 5:20 am #4504435
Unfortunately, there’s no exception to the LAW that has been in place for years. The problem here is either the same trolls as every year that comes out to mess with people or people who are confusing CTC and ACTC and EITC
I agree.

I came to the forum to see if anyone else got a DDD because I filed on 1/25 and didn’t think anything of it because I’m a PATHer. Checked my status today only because I downloaded the IRS app and absolutely shocked to see I have a DDD of 2/2.
Anyone else????

I’d bet these people are the same ones that will be going on FB/Twitter and other forums on IGMR complaining about how they still didn’t get their refunds, come may 2022. Lying about getting their refunds and later complaining about not getting theirs. I found a few people doing this a few years back. Pathetic.
-
January 30, 2022 at 1:28 am #4504436
The only people getting early refunds are those who claimed CTC ONLY (this is not PATH worthy), and those whom claimed the EIC and or ACTC through a tax company, and got refund advances through their professionals companies (H&R Block/Turbo Tax/Walmart/ etc.

If you’re a PATHER and you actually have a DDD, congrats! That is amazing.
Can someone explain between CTC/ACTC&EIC? Because I’m seeing people state CTC is not the path act.
Correct.
CTC= child tax credit (you are not a PATHer)
ACTC= Additional ” ” ” (you are now a PATHer)
EITC= Earned Income Tax Credit (PATHer)
I won’t speak to turn around times, though… -
January 28, 2022 at 9:58 pm #4504200
I have seen several posts of PATHers getting DDD of 2/1 or 2/2, anyone seeing this? Is it a glitch on transcripts? People are going to be upset one way or another.

I figured why rush, when our taxes wont be processed until Feb 15th anyway, and why sit in limbo for 6 to 8 weeks when you can wait 2 to 3 weeks after filing to get your taxes anyway? It’s my sons first time filing, and I gave him the heads up that he will be waiting until at the very least, the last week of Feb before he sees anything in his bank account. He sounded a little disappointed at what I told him, but then he was reminded that it’s still money in the bank.
-
January 28, 2022 at 2:10 pm #4503878
Just filed my son’s taxes yesterday. As we expected, He is walking the PATH too, as he claimed the EIC. I’m going to wait until next week before I actually submit my taxes, as I did since the PATH Act was put into place.

First time being able to see my transcripts now i feel like one of the cool kids lol but quick question on which transcript do you look out for to see the famous 846 code
-
January 28, 2022 at 11:10 am #4503833ME
I have my transcript no 846, says something abou 2/14/22 and it usually comes a few days prior to that date. We shall see.

I filed 1/20 accepted 1/21. My transcripts updated today with a 846 for 2/2. I am a PATHer. Never had it this early before I am shocked.

Can we stop getting upset that other PATHERS have DDDs BEFORE FEBRUARY 15!!!! We know the rules but there are always exceptions so quit trying to steal our hope and joy!

PATHer.
Last year I had to call in and verify my ID for the first time ever.
If you have an account with the IRS using ID.me, which I do now, they shouldn’t have to verify again.
But then again it is the Federal Government. -
January 27, 2022 at 11:41 am #4503596
I’m a pather and every year it’s around the middle of February. This year, I filed the 24th, accepted same day, next day showed one bar on WMR, today my transcripts changed to 846 for the 1st. Confused, but agree that maybe the early pay outs for the child tax made it so it doesn’t have to be held. I’ll see on the 1st, but that’s what it says. Weird.

January 27, 2022 at 8:41 am #4503575Neek
It is a Federal Law that us Pathers have our refund held until after Feb. 15, no way around it.
-
January 27, 2022 at 3:19 am #4503548Skittlezzz
Hey fellow Pathers! Filed 1/25, accepted 1/25, 1 bar received 1/25. No change. Haven’t checked transcripts as I’m so sure it hasn’t updated yet cuz it’s only been a day. I’m also hoping like you all that since we received our CTC monthly they won’t hold our returns til after 2/15 🙏. Let’s have a positive & exciting tax season with lots of great news!
-
January 26, 2022 at 7:22 pm #45035057An0nymou2
Filed the 20th, accepted on 21st. WMR changed to one bar (return received) on 1/21. No movement since. Transcripts show no return has been received by IRS yet. Only info from last year. I’m a PATHer.
-
January 26, 2022 at 5:19 pm #4503491
I have seen some PATHers saying they already have DDD of 1/28. It seems since we were receiving the Advanced CTC payments from July-December which were just an advance on the credit for this tax season, there is no reason to audit or hold the returns for fraud since the actual credit was already approved. Fingers crossed the rest of us also start seeing DDDs sooner than after 2/15.
-
January 26, 2022 at 5:30 am #4503414Monica
Filed the 20th, excepted 21st. WMR changed to the PATH message this morning with no bars. Transcripts show processing date of 02/14/2022. Expect that my return will finish processing on the 14th to issue refund. All transcripts are now available, no 846 code expected until 14th.
-
January 25, 2022 at 4:38 am #4503243Monica
Filed 20th Jan, accepted the 21st. Account Transcript updated on 25th with tax information and processing date of 14th Feb. I expected this as i have EITC and CTC.
-
January 24, 2022 at 9:04 pm #4503213
@Mikash the law, that has been in place last 5 years or so, says that IRS couldn’t process returns with ACTC and/or EITC until February 15th
-
January 19, 2022 at 6:50 pm #4502994Mikash
Just wondering if regular CTC is going to be held along with ACTC and EIC?
