I filed and accepted 1/15, went to 9001, transcripts updated 2/8, WMR changed from 9001 to delayed 1541. I think it is just a generic hold code for path.
Ifound this on IRS website, I know they aren’t always transparent with the things they say, but here it is anyways lol

Where’s My Refund ‎on IRS.gov and the IRS2Go mobile app remains the best way to check the status of a refund. Where’s My Refund will be updated with projected deposit dates for most early EITC and ACTC refund filers by February 23 so those filers will not see a refund date on Where’s My Refund ‎or through their software packages until then. The IRS, tax preparers and tax software will not have additional information on refund dates, so these filers should not contact or call about refunds before the end of February.

It could be sign if manual review however if it is something that they can correct without you then it will change rather update as normal if there’s a review such as dependents or hoh and you have to verify it couldn’t be a while I would just wait it out when did you get accepted??

If we haven’t updated to the path message yet I’m wondering if our updates will come later than the 15th?

                      @@@Tennessee Girl…
Today is the 11th so not sure how tomorrow is the 14th? 14th is Thursday and I only know that because it’s Val-day and I gotta get my daughter’s cards for her classroom before then! Lol
We will all see updates soon and have deposits before the end of this glorious month. I can promise at least 80% of us that. Lol

Tennessee Gal : in the IRS handbook it actually states that the c-freeze holding refunds is called FEB15 RFND FRZ and the computer is set to release them automatically starting on February the 15th so after that people will begin seeing updates. People will start seeing transcripts update on the 16th with refund release codes and then WMR the next business day it updates after that which may be Tuesday since Monday is a holiday. So the Feb 15th date is actually spelled out in the manual even though they state mid-feb in a lot of the literature they post.

Where is everyone getting the 15th from? The middle of the month is tomorrow, the 14th. Could PATH refunds be released tomorrow or is the middle of the month considered the 15th per the IRS? I’m confused lol

It’s the government. They have no incentive to be efficient in time, use, or cost.

Glad they provided somewhat of an update but it’s just screaming what we already knew…they are really behind…no delay my a**!

I think the IRS could really cut down in their call volumes if they employed online chat, hired a social media manager or a few and just designated people to building a more comprehensive FAQ that is on their website and social media pages that addresses more of these types of questions generally and alerts people when delays/codes etc pop up. Their app would also benefit from allowing users to sign up for text and email updates so we don’t have to keep checking their system for updates. If I knew I was going to get a text each time WMR updated or my transcripts updated/posted I’d stop logging into their system. If I knew I’d get a daily/weekly communications email with good info I’d stop calling or checking online forums etc so much.

A bit of common sense would increase their efficiency and would go a long way

Does where’s my refund update to the path message mean good news or a delay?
