EVERYONE WAS EXPECTING PATH TO UPDATE ON THE 15TH. FYI MAJOR UPDATES WILL ALWAYS BE ON SATURDAYS UNLESS YOU ARE A DAILY UPDATER.. ANYBODY WITH A EITC OR ACTC WILL MORE THEN LIKELY BE A WEEKLY SO IF YOU UPDATE TOMORROW WITH A DDD YOU SHOULD EXPECT YOUR REFUND ON A WED.. IJS

I found this on the IRS site….
Taxpayers who claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit may experience a refund hold. According to the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act, the IRS cannot issue these refunds before mid-February. The IRS expects the earliest EITC/ACTC related refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or debit cards starting February 27, 2019, if these taxpayers chose direct deposit and there are no other issues with their tax return. So do I keep seeing some people saying that they will see their money next week? R theyvjust trolling or is that information some where else?

I meant 2/17 not 1/17 sorry!

Last year the IRS said they would update WMR for majority of Pathers on 1/17 and they stuck by that and did not update the vast majority of pathers until 1/17.
This year they changed that statement to 2/23 for WMR update.
I do not know if they were just giving themselves a cushion because of the shutdown or if they really are sticking by that. If so it will be next Saturday -

TC 846 info I just read on irs.gov website
“Will ordering a transcript help me find out when I’ll get my refund?
A tax transcript will not help you find out when you’ll get your refund. The information transcripts have about your account does not necessarily reflect the amount or timing of your refund. They are best used to validate past income and tax filing status for mortgage, student and small business loan applications, and to help with tax preparation.” -

Everyone who keep saying you have to have the 846 code is COMPLETELY wrong…..last year I had the same cycle code as this year, with a process date of 2/22 last year and 2/25 this year and last year received my refund 3 days after my birthday which is 2/11 and I didn’t have WMR update or 846 the only thing that did update was the SBTPG site when they received it and it deposited the next day into my account…..everything else didn’t update until after my money was in my account

@momjess How would my transcript update on 01/16, if I didn’t file until Jan 25th?
I really have nothing to gain by lying. I received my dd before my transcript and WMR updated.
Nowhere did I say it is for certain ddd will pop up tomorrow. I simply pointed out the inaccuracy of your statement because you stated it factually when it’s not completely true.
It is possible to get a DD before the systems update with the 846 code and DDD on my WMR.

“Transaction Codes (TC) consist of three digits. They are used to identify a transaction being processed and to maintain a history of actions posted to a taxpayer’s account on the Master File. Every transaction processed by the IRS must contain a Transaction Code to maintain Accounting Controls of debits and credits, to cause the computer to post the transaction on the Master File, to permit compilation of reports, and to identify the transaction when a transcript is extracted from the Master File.”

You do have to get an 846 code on your transcript. It means refund issued. If you have an early-release card like Netspend or AMEX Serve, you will get your money before the DD shown there, but you will never get a DD until the 846 code appears on your transcript.

Last year’s transcript showed the 846 code with a date of 2/22/18 beside it and I received my deposit on 2/21/18. However, according to my login history on the IRS website, the last time I logged in last year was on the evening of 2/16/18. It was the last time I logged in because it was the day my transcript updated with the 846 code so I had no need to check them after that. So my transcripts did update on that Friday (2/16). My WMR did not update for a few days after my transcript updated, I’m thinking not until I already had my deposit.

I’m sorry I meant I expect to wake up to a DDD in the morning for next week. 🙏🏼

I feel like transcripts update first whether the update shows on our end or not and that is what prompts WMR to update. In my mind it doesn’t make sense that the WMR system would update the transcript system.
So I’m sure it’s possible for transcripts to update, not show the update due to how long that system could take to show updates to us on our end and then possibly see an update on WMR before the online transcript system shows the update.
It will be interesting to see what we all wake up to tomorrow though. It will prove/disprove some of our theories and we can all come back and post our updates so future us next year can find the answers we forgot about or help the next set of filers

Does anyone think we can update with 846 codes before the day is over?
-
February 15, 2019 at 3:54 pm #4271873Am
If your 2018 tax return transcript has your 2018 tax return info on it WMR will update next day. People are getting very technical with transcripts it as easy as that. The 846 code pops up the day they release your money usually, not always though. Good luck ✌🏼I’m planning to have an update tomm. I called IRS asked if there was up to date info on my tax return transcript for 2018 since I have to do it through mail this year. I told them I need it for my daughters college they said yes my new return info was on there and sent it out. I expect to wake up to an Direct deposit date on Wens 2/20 or 2/21

My direct deposit hit last year after 846 code and before WMR moved.
-
February 15, 2019 at 3:49 pm #4271865Am
Yes you will get a Direct deposit date on WMR before the 846 code which is the actual day your money is released will update so WMR will update first!

Maybe if you use a prepaid card but if you don’t that’s not usually a typical way for DD to post. They normally post the date they are assigned.
-
February 15, 2019 at 3:45 pm #4271853
@CiCe Not trying to knock you off your high horse, but maybe the person who doesn’t know what they’re talking about is you.
As I stated in a previous post, my cycle date was 02/19/18 last year. I checked my bank account to see when my direct deposit hit last year and it was deposited on 02/21/2019.
Last year’s transcript shows the 846 code on 02/22/18 as when the refund was released but my bank account proves it was released on 02/21/18.
Carry on.

Here’s my experience from last year for what it’s worth.
My Cycle Date showed as 02/19/18.
I received a direct deposit to my American Express Serve card on 02/21/18.
On last year’s transcript, it showed 02/22/18 with the 846 code as the day the refund was issued.
So yes, it IS possible to receive a DD before the 846 code appears on the transcripts.

The 846 code shows your refund has been released. So, anyone telling you that a refund release code ISN’T necessary….might not know what they are talking about.
Every process of your return in documented. w-2 amount, credits, notices, interest, holds, and releases. That’s a fact.
So, an 846 is indicative, of a refund to come. sorry not sorry,
If you don’t have an 846 on your transcript your refund is probably not coming the next day.

I’m not an expert, I’m new to reading transcripts. But I doubt there’s any rule that says they must update with an 846 before WMR can update. The fact that they historically have done so could just be coincidence, or lucky timing based on days of the week and when those individual things update.
Today being the 15th, I believe they just started the final processing of our returns, and the daily update of the transcripts happened before business hours. And I don’t think they update live. But just because our transcript doesn’t show it yet, doesn’t mean it’s not going on behind the scenes.
I’m still holding out hope for a DDD tomorrow on WMR. I don’t expect the transcripts to update until at least next Tuesday, maybe Wednesday, by which time our money will already be on its way.
Of course I’m just trying to think positive, but the truth is that none of us knows for sure. We’re all guessing and hoping.

Whoever told everyone they need a 846 code to have a DDD tomm is wrong. If your 2018 tax return info is listed on the tax return transcript you will update tomm with or without the 846 code. Not trying to be negative just factual. I work for a tax attorney. If you have all other codes and an tax return transcript with 2018 info on it. Your done!

UNLESS 846 UPDATES ARE RECIEVED TODAY YOU WILL NOT GET AN UPDATE WITH A DD TOMORROW. IT MIGHT UPDATE BUT ONLY TO REMOVE PATH AND GO TO BARS OR ANOTHER TAKE ACTION MESSAGE. Also, no one likes being hollered at in all caps lol!!

We were hoping for Panthers transcript to update with 846 codes which would indicate an update for Saturday. I haven’t seen anyone with path update 846 on transcripts 😑 Not a good sign

Also depends on the bank as some hold for the date sent for deposit and some like CHIME release immediately so WHO KNOWS . Years past I get deposit a day or two before i see any updates or any emails from TT
-
February 15, 2019 at 12:15 pm #4271497
Yes BUT transcripts generally show an 846 code the day before WMR has updated, which no pathers have gotten yet. So the odds of us getting a ddd in WMR tomorrow are very low.

Usaa deposits a day before. We received ours on the 21st last year.
It would be nice if it came in before next Friday. It’s the St. Barbara day ball that night and I still need a couple of things. If I can’t afford it, I’ll live but still….

Or on a Thursday, like last year.
(Just to keep the MADNESS at a low roar, for when it deposits on Thursday instead.)
