I noticed this morning after checking me and my aunts WMR. Mine says that “A refund date will be provided when available…………………………

Hers actually says According to the Path Act refunds can not be issued until mid-february…………..check WRM after mid-february.

I filed about a week before her. Anybody knows why hers is saying that and mine isnt?

I have the “refund date will be provided” message. I received letter 12C regarding form 8963 and my 1095A from using ACA insurance for one month.

@Unicorn Kisses!! Thank you……I am hopeful!!! I am hopeful!!

@Tish – yes, I have seen a lot of people state they have received that message (and by BOTH people who state they are filing w/ credits and those filing w/ no credits). So I don’t know what the rhyme or reason for one to get that particular message is.

Last year I had the EIC. This year I did not (only CTC this year). Last year, it was fairly standard process – this year had my refund by 01/30!

What I can tell you is that every year – I mean I can’t remember one year – I have gotten my refund BEFORE WMR updates. This year, WMR gave me a DDD of 01/31/2018. I had my funds 01/30 and WMR did not update until 2 days later with 3 bars…

I hope that gives you hope.

@Unicorn Kisses I was thinking the same thing. They should be able to see that my name is what is….lol!!! Another one of my cousins got the……still processing…….a date will be provided when available message. Have you noticed that a lot of people got that message this year. Or maybe I didn’t pay attention last year because I wasn’t in that situation last year. Praying for an update on transcripts today or tomorrow and update in WMR Saturday!!

@Tish – I would think changing it w/ SSA would help the cross check, but from what I read (and how I’m translating it in my mind), it literally is a side by side electronic check and any change other than to the obvious categories (income, taxes w/held, etc.), it likely flags it to be manually checked. I do not believe the manual check to be some crazy process. I’d deduce that a simple check w/ SSA (by human or perhaps a more sophisticated program) so that explanation for the change to name (in your case the split), can be verified and you pushed along. I don’t think this will add days or anything…I could be the difference and what is creating the spread between you and your family (one having PATH and you not).

@unicorn kisses. My last name did change but we are separated and do not live together. Everything else is the same. Is that something they can manually do? My name was changed through ssa so i thought changing it on my taxes was the right thing to do.

Typically no bars a refund date will be provided when available means ID VERIFY Call IRS rather then waiting for a letter

Hi Tish – did both of you file w/ either EIC or ACTC (NOT CTC) credits?

I read that the IRS system operates on a cross check system. If everything – probably w/ the exception of the items that routinely change like income, individual taxes, etc. – matches as last year the system pushes it through. If something has changed, address, name, status change (i.e. HOH, single, married, etc.) even phone number, those can not be automatically finished. They have to be manually finished. If one of you had a change, this could be why. But regardless, if you and/or her filed w/ the EIC or ACTC, you may not get another update until after Feb. 15.

I have the refund date will be provided when available. I’m hoping it means they processed my return and I’m waiting for after the 15th. But I have tax topic 152 and not the path message. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
