PATH message different on WMR (“processing delays”)?

Hi all!

Is the PATH message just generally different on WMR this year? I know in previous years it gave a message with “PATH’ specifically identified when Tax Topic 152 went away. This year, though, I am seeing way more people say they got a message stating “Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available. For more information about processing delays, please see our Refund Frequently Asked Questions.”

When I go to the FAQ link, the PATH credit delays (EITC/ACTC) are included in the list of processing delays. Do we think they just changed how WMR displays the PATH delay?

Any additional info or messages other PATHers are getting would be appreciated!

I have PATH and one bar. Have any PATHers moved to “approved” yet?

Mine just shows the same exact PATH message it always has. Nothing about a delay or anything. Filed and accepted 1/29.

So i just read an article on a local news site (nj1015.com) that essentially said on top of all the changes to the various credits and such that the IRS expanded the WMR tool to give more detailed information in certain situations and for certain statuses. Essentially things are not going to look or act the same as they have in the past. So expect some differences in status messages and how the “3 bars” behave.

Checked my transcript everything there but the issue refund code. WMR still say same thing TT 152 I won’t see an update until around the 19th on my transcript again.

It’s All the same you are correct it’s still kinda early but you should start seeing more info as the week progresses to next week as it gets closer to the 15th that’s all that’s why everyone who claims such credits see the same message nothing to be worried about unless you see anything about verification or some sort just wait to be processed and relax

No that message is a separate message unrelated to PATH. My WMR has updated to the PATH message and it’s the same from prior years. Only difference I have noticed this year with the PATH message is my bar is still there, prior years my bar was gone with the PATH message displayed.
