I woke up to the PATH message. It’s been 1 bar since the 15th. Accepted 1/14. Expecting 2/19 or 2/26 DDD. Fingers crossed for 2/19!!! No more checking WMR till the 15th yay lol I’m just glad things are moving way faster this year! Happy refunds everyone 😂

Probably has to do with batch numbers then idk lol I’ll wait patiently tho lol no worries
If you have a reliable source of income right now, there’s no reason to be so worried about income tax money lol 😂

Seems like the people who got accepted early on January 15th updated to the Path message overnight…
I filed early but got accepted on the 21st of January.. so I’m thinking the people who got accepted on the 21st will update this coming Friday night into Saturday morning with the Path message…
My State refund on TT says it has been received by NYS but they haven’t accepted it yet.. I’m just happy they got it lol but I’ll be even more happy when they approve it

Even if you have one credit and not the other you are under path. It doesn’t have to be both credits.

@Elliot I’m pretty sure you claimed earned income credit the last two years and that’s why you were on path. Your wages sound like you would qualify for it with children. Look on 2018 1040 line 17A. And 2019 1040 line 18A.

Ummm @sarah21… I already know this Information lol that’s why I laughed 😂
I’ve been on this forum about 3yrs now..
But thank you for the vital information.. some people might not know this information so thank u
But I am kind of confused tho,
I’ve only been claiming one child each year.. and idk if I claimed eic.. doesn’t the path act only count for actc and eic?
Not CTC? I’ve been a pather for the last 2yrs now and I’ve been claiming the same simple return those years.. one kid, in school full time claimed, only made $15000 in wages -

Same here. I did look at all our past transcript accounts (since 2015) and it’s been 10-12 days processing date from DDD. 12 days when no credits, 10 days when EIC in 2017. If the trend is right, ddd should be the 19th through 22nd 🤞

@Elliot that doesn’t mean anything. You are a PATHER if you claimed EITC or ACTC(Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit). The regular child tax credit doesn’t count in PATH. See below
Taxpayers who claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit may experience a refund hold. According to the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act, the IRS cannot issue these refunds before mid-February. The IRS expects the first EITC/ACTC related refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or on debit cards by the first week of March, if they chose direct deposit and there are no other issues with their tax return. Check Where’s My Refund for your personalized refund date.
WMR on IRS.gov and the IRS2Go app will be updated with projected deposit dates for most early EITC/ACTC refund filers by February 22. So EITC /ACTC filers will not see an update to their refund status for several days after Feb. 15.

So just because you haven’t switched to PATH message yet doesn’t mean you’re not a PATHER. It matters if you claimed those credits above. If you did and haven’t turned to PATH yet, your return has not started processing yet. It’s still very early for PATH. That’s why I said I’m glad things are moving faster this year.

I haven’t updated to the Path message yet and I’ve been accepted by Fed since the 21st … Hopefully that means I’m not a pather this year LMAO I’ll just wait
Wmr still has 1bar with tax topic 152

It’s starting….! My oldest son has his DD listed as 01/29 – looks like things are moving faster this year. Don’t expect for ours to be DD until late Feb, but still, not as much confusion this year.
Woke up to this message on Wheres My MONEY –
According to the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act, the IRS cannot issue refunds before mid-February for tax returns that claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit. This applies to the entire refund, even the portion not associated with these credits.
Check Where’s My Refund in mid- to late February for your personalized refund status. It’s updated once a day and remains the best way to check the status of your refund.
Please read the following information related to your tax situation:

Please Note:
For refund information, please continue to check here, or use our free mobile app, IRS2Go. Updates to refund status are made no more than once a day.
