After I submitted my taxes electronically last week I realized I might have put the wrong EIN down for one of my W-2s. Does anyone know if the IRS actually looks at that? I mean I would think as long as the income matches with what’s reported to them by the employers it wouldn’t matter. But just worried

If they accepted it they may ask for you to provide additional info or they may not just be aware they may want to verify employer in such case you would get a letter from them

If it wasn’t rejected then you should be fine in most cases. If they accepted your return then I wouldn’t worry.
