IRS tool was down for maintenance last night. Checked both SSNs this morning and it now shows my wife’s payment is schedule for the 24th instead of already deposited on the 17th. Fingers crossed that they resolved this issue.

I just checked my information again on Get My Payment and it still says that I was scheduled to receive stimulus on March 17, however when I put in my wife’s information, it now is indicating that her stimulus is scheduled for March 24. I don’t know if this helps or relieves any of the stress that the IRS and Treasury department has caused all of us, but at least there is hope that everyone’s full stimulus amount will be coming. Of course, I won’t trust it happens until it happens.

Hi everyone I just wanted to come give everyone hope. We originally only got half our payment on the 17th which was my half. We are married filed jointly 4 dependents. On the IRS website my payment gave the date of the 17th (and we received it) my husband had no date but stated he was eligible. Today we received the other half via direct deposit also. I also am hearing others have a date of the 24th. Hope you all receive it cause it’s yours ;)

We are a family of five and expected $7000. Only got $3500. I spoke to the IRS twice, first one said sometimes payments come in multiples, the second one said to wait five days from first deposit and if we haven’t received the other half to call them back and they’ll do a bank trace. I’m gonna call next Wednesday. I also read somewhere that they are releasing a second batch of payments on 3/24/21.

We were supposed to have gotten 7000, and only received 3500. I thought something had happened, but after reading all these posts, I see we aren’t the only ones. First time my college daughter is getting money and she is excited. Hopefully the IRS will fix this and send all of us the rest of the money. If anyone finds out anything from the IRS, PLEASE POST!!

Same here, from Colorado, Only Received half of what was expected (family of 4- 5600, only received 2800!?) . no clue but seems like we are not the only ones. no answers just yet, please keep sharing so IRS can hopefully settle all of this.

Same for me. Married, filed jointly, 3 dependants. Use H&R Block Emerald Advance. Was supposed to get $7,000 & only got $3,500 yesterday. Got the 1st and 2nd stimulus with no issues. H&R Block has no clue and didn’t offer much help.
-
March 18, 2021 at 12:16 pm #4474048
Seems its happening to most that filed IS. We got the first 2 with no problem. Two equal deposits on the same day. This time, only the one in my husband’s name was deposited for exactly half of what we are eligible for. My WMP says eligible with DD # but no date.

I am only missing one payment. Same as last time I got mine and my kids my husbands went to his business account bc he’s self employed we don’t even use that account this time we got for 5 in the joint account and one is missing again. But nothing is in his business account unless it’s just delayed? 🤷🏼♀️

Filed Injured Spouse Married Jointly, Family of 5 Supposed to get 7000 only got directions deposited via US Bank $3500, spoke to the IRS today and said that possibly the second half will be deposited at a later date???
-
March 18, 2021 at 11:08 am #4473992nb1201
We received $5600. We only have one dependent child that is under 18 so we should have only received $4200. Our 19 year old received his own payment as well. Not sure why we got more than we should have and others are getting less. We’ll just set it aside because I’m sure the IRS will want it back.
-
March 18, 2021 at 10:59 am #4473988Ken
I was expecting $8000 but only receive $4200, My 2nd Stimulus did not receive full amount because it was sent to the wrong bank account, We have no problem on the first stimulus. I already file my 2020 Tax return since the end of January and still in process including a rebate from 2nd stimulus. So yeah IRS is not doing a good job lately.

March 18, 2021 at 10:09 am #4473963gartj

There is a very very large Face Book group about this very thing. Just search “only got half my stimulus” and join the group…. we are not alone. It is many people all over the US.

That’s a valid theory!! Only my name is on the account!
DreDay
Do anyone have there spouse on there bank account as a joint account. I’m thinking the reason might be that banks only accept deposits for names on the account. Let me know if this might be true because my wife isn’t on my account and I received half the previous 2 checks thru my bank account and hers went to our turbotax card. -
March 18, 2021 at 9:02 am #4473909MeganW
Same! Got 1st and 2nd stimulus with no problems. Only got half of this one even though we are way within the limits. Married filing jointly. Already filed and received 2020 refund.
-
March 18, 2021 at 8:39 am #4473885Shannon
Only received $4200- expecting $8400 for a family of 6. Full stimulus for first 2, 2020 taxes filed. They should create a tool to allow people like us to get the remaining portion because we need it now, rather than making us wait a year to claim missing funds in 2021 (assuming they do that again). But I don’t see that happening. It’s just not right.

Same situation 2020 taxes refund sent, only half of my $4200 stimulus check was deposited so ($2100). I know I well within the AGI (adjusted gross income). I will check back to see if anybody find a reason why this happened. Or a Fix for this.

March 18, 2021 at 7:47 am #4473850
I reached the IRS yesterday and spoke to someone. What I got both payments last year in full. While we made more last year, we didn’t make enough to cover the income so we qualified. The lady I got took a good 25 minutes of looking through all of my returns and said there was a problem. Basically she said they removed my spouse, recalculated, still qualified, added her back in for payment, but they cut in half exactly., Se opened up a complaint and said 30 days of waiting.

Married file jointly, received full amount first two times. Only got half yesterday and no date as to the other half.

I’m in the same both. Expecting $4200 but only got $2100. 1st time filing married jointly with one dependent after getting married last year. I checked “Get My Payment” tool & both mine + my husband’s said money was already deposited on March 17th. This forum makes me feel a little better knowing we’re not alone experiencing this. We still haven’t gotten our federal tax either it just said BEING PROCESSED for about a week or two now.

In Washington state (PNW). Received exactly half of our payment: $2800 instead of $5600 for our family of four. We are eligible for all of the 3rd stimulus.
Married and filed jointly, 2020 tax return received. IRS transcripts have not updated. I tried calling the IRS and got no where… -
March 18, 2021 at 1:58 am #4473766Keyser
Received exactly half payment: $2100 instead of $4200 family of three. This forum makes me feel a lot better – clearly a larger issue that the IRS will (eventually) remedy.
-

Yep. Should’ve received 9800 only had 4900 direct deposited.

I too am in the same boat! We expected $4200 and last Friday we got $2100. Last stimulus my husband was mailed a check for half the amount and I got the other half a few days later directly deposited. I cant find answers anywhere.

Filed married filing joint with one dependent both in 2019 and 2020. Only received half of our 3rd stimulus. Irs tool stated on both our info that it was to be deposited today. Hubby got his friday, and nothing on mine. This is frustrating and no one has answers as to what is going on. ,

Received half of our expected stimulus. Married, filing jointly with 4 kids. 8400 Expected, got half. On the “Get My Payment” .gov site, My social shows the deposit date which was accurate, my wife’s social shows she’s eligible but payment date will be updated.
-
March 17, 2021 at 10:18 pm #4473676
Same thing here! Was supposed to receive 8400, but only got 4200. Another goof up from our ignorant, outdated IRS. Anybody else notice the IRS works flawlessly when they take your money?? But when they screw up, they don’t have a care in the world!
The IRS doesn’t take your withholdings. Your employer deducts it and sends it in.

Received half of my stimulus $3500 was deposited instead of the full $7000. Any answers on why
only half was deposited. -
March 17, 2021 at 9:44 pm #4473660
Filed married jointly with one dependent. I got my half today as where my payment said but on where my payment for my husband it say date will update. Why not together as the first 2 times???
-
March 17, 2021 at 9:35 pm #4473655Mark&Rizza
Yep , 4200 expected 2100 direct deposit , figuring out how much you should receive is not rocket science , nor is so many receiving only half . This needs to be brought main stream , Hardly anyone is even discussing it
-
March 17, 2021 at 9:26 pm #4473648Mary325
We were expecting 4200. We only got 2100.
-
March 17, 2021 at 9:20 pm #4473643KayDoe
My family received half deposits for every stimulus. One half for my husband and one half for me. His deposit always came first. An hour later, mine came. Though with this third deposit, we have only received my husband’s money so far. Both of ours said they would deposit today but my husband got his post last Friday.
2020 taxes not processed
Family of 5
3 dependents
Got full stimulus 1+2 with no issues

-
March 17, 2021 at 7:35 pm #4473602BrittanyM
This issue is happening with me and my husband. We filed jointly and I did an injured spouse form on our taxes due to him having student loan debt. Our taxes haven’t been processed yet. But when we checked the “get my payment” tool on IRS website, looking up our information it says that the stimulus was directly deposited into our account, though we only received half. So $1400 instead of $2800.

Same here, married filing jointly, 2020 tax return received and we only got half of stimulus 3. We are eligible for all of it. I got nowhere when I called the IRS.
-
March 17, 2021 at 6:51 pm #4473576Parker
I also received 50% of what was expected. I called IRS stimulus hotline and spoke to a real human being. She had NO idea what I was talking about. She also messaged others in her team and they received no calls about this either. I am a tax preparer. I own my own business and received my 2020 refund in full. One clients txt me that her daughter expected 9800 in stimulus and only received 50% as well. I will keep an eye out to see if anyone here has gotten any answers.

Yup, only got half the expected payment.
-
March 17, 2021 at 1:46 pm #4473407
I only received half of what I thought we would be getting too. I have no idea why.
-
March 17, 2021 at 1:11 pm #4473389
@leisa1979 Thanks. Hopefully it works out for you and everyone. We filed 2020 but it’s always slow because I have to file injured spouse. My wife had student loans she let default before we were married and if I didn’t file that way they would take the entire refund. At first I thought that might be the reason for only receiving half but after seeing so many only receive half i doubt that’s the case.
-
March 17, 2021 at 1:07 pm #4473386Dan
Refunds are being sent out now? Got some of my stimulus and my refund says the same thing it did when I filed the 27th been received and is being processed or something like that. Im expecting 7,142 should I expect part of that? I dont mind tbh as long as they pay me the rest. Any money at this moment for rent and food helps. I havnt eaten in 3 days xD. As long as the kids get fed I don’t care but I like food so cmon money!
-
March 17, 2021 at 12:51 pm #4473377
@erm0715 , damn I’m sorry to hear that.Did they process, complete and send your 2020 refund out yet? Other folks on here are saying if your 20 return hasn’t been fully processed and refunded then they go off of your 19 (which is BS), it’s not our fault that the irs is slow AF. I hope they fix your situation. As of right now I’m still in limbo with the “status unavailable msg”, I always receive a check or debit card as I used the non filers tool for the first 2 stimulus
-
March 17, 2021 at 12:33 pm #4473358
@leisa1979 I wish / hope that were the case. The article implied it could be using the 2019 tax return but that would yield a different amount if they halved it (we had a kid in 2020) so what we received is 1/2 of what we would expect from the 2020 return instead of the 2019 return. Sounds like a mess, good luck everyone. Hopefully they’ll send a check to cover the other half.
-
March 17, 2021 at 11:59 am #4473332
https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2021/03/16/irs-stimulus-payment-tracker/. This article states if you only received half of your stimulus payment the irs will issue the remaining balance, doesn’t specify when though
-
March 17, 2021 at 11:51 am #4473326
We are n PNW and received half of or stimulus for family of 3. Only issue we had with first stimulus was they took all of it for hubby’s back cs, but then I received that in Sept. Second stimulus we received all of it in 2 deposits. Idk what will happen this time. Still no movement on transcript for taxes. Ugh
-
March 17, 2021 at 11:30 am #4473297
I was supposed to have gotten $9800, and only got $7000. I don’t know what the heck is going on. I filed Married filing jointly with 5 dependent children.

March 17, 2021 at 8:48 am #4473165Asdf
Exact same situation with my family. 2020 Filed and got refund, married joint file, 1 kid. My pending bank deposit is only $2,100 exactly half of what it should be based on our AGI. Couldn’t find anything on IRS website, really would like some info on this…will update of I come across anything. Good luck any others.
-
March 17, 2021 at 8:18 am #4473146AleciaS
Not for stimulus 3, but for stimulus 2. We are married, file jointly with two dependents. For stimulus 2 half was direct deposited and the other half was sent in a check.
