On the horn with the IRS

I finally got through to the TA line, and… dude just dumped me to accounts team without asking for any real information. I explained what I was facing. He sounded haggard AF. I work in CS and sometimes have to take in bound calls, I know how rough it can be when the phone is non-stop. 15 min to get the TA 2 min talking and now in a 30 min hold.

Why did I call? Well…
Filed and accepted 2/23 (Actually filed on 2/21 but HRB rep screwed up something and had to refile) tax bars and TT went away 2 weeks ago, in the still processing stage, refund amount has not disappeared so there is that. Waiting on transcripts paperwork as their website doesn’t like our phones which is just maddening. Finally requested. In the 27 years of filing taxes I’ve done, never waited this long. Will post what they tell me.

We’re in the dreaded “Errors” Department for “claimed credits”. When I pushed on that he asked if we applied credits, I said no, he asked if we had dependents, we do not. He said there is no flag for further information, it’s just in line to be “fixed” and it could take “10 weeks” to get done. Ergo, they are backlogged and rando flagged us for no reason other than to buy time to do other stuff. Damn it.

Well he’s got my account pulled up now and looking. Uhg. This is why I like Gov’t that does least for me, because they screw up everything.

My exact situation except I never had to refile, but evrrything else similar. I called and got through already they said to give it 10 weeks and not 3 weeks and its in error resolution, which seems to be a generic answer theyre giving most ppl. still processing…
