      Hey, I filed on 2/1 bad PATH which today went away and says processing on transcripts it gives the 846 code with a date of 2/22 but my lovely husband went into default on his student loans and those bad boys are federal. We received a notice months ago that he may not receive a refund due to this but filed thinking if they take it they take it. (I’d still like to beat him though) we haven’t received any notice since filing and we have the 846 code is there a way to know if we are actually getting the refund or if it’s being offset?

          They just take it. Unfortunately I didn’t hear anything until it was already taken. Taught me a huge lesson and it will never happen again. Haha.
