Wouldn’t back child support show up as offset on the 800-304-3107 Number for offsets? My state was kept for it already shows that and already got the letter.. federal shows a ddd if 2-22 but don’t show it been offset and neither does the number. Or will this all change on the deposit day?

      Thanks!

He had to return his xbox 360 back to Walmart because of it. They wouldn’t refund him for the open discs so he ended up selling the games to the local pawn shop for like 8$ and they where 60$ brand new and he only had it for like 4 days.

My buddy owed for the refund advance and the tax prepares at HR block kept harassing him all over town because they didn’t get paid due to it all going to back support. He ended up owing something like 500$ for the advance and 400$ in prep fees

No big deal just wanted the guy to be prepared for it in case they do take it.

But yeah, if you called the offset hotline, and its not showing, its because its already been removed from your refund, and you will receive a letter showing the difference.

David thats not true. My friend had 3000$ took from his back in 2009 he was super pissed about it

If you are behind in child support and your state child support enforcement office collects your payments from you, the IRS will take your tax refund to cover the arrears (often called a tax refund seizure). The IRS will then give the money to the appropriate child support agency.

Yeah im pretty sure it wont post until after the offset is paid. If you have unpaid hospital bills they can take it for those too.

I think it shows up after the deposit is issued. My buddy got his entire refund about (3000$)took back in 2009 for back child support and he didn’t get a notice or anything.
