And just like that I woke up to Refund Approved but it may be partially reduced due to an offset. It says I should receive refund before February 27th. Anyone know if this is true? Do offsets really take that short of a time to adjust?Called and found out it was due to my husband’s unemployment overpayment.

I just found out I do have an offset and they have taken their portion now I have another question: After the offset has been paid do they mail the remaining to you, send the remaining through the preparer or send it to your bank account? I’m asking because now I will owe Santa Barbara bank and I’m in a situation.

Hey! I had same message, says offset and should receive by March 1st, but no ddd. On second approced bar on wmr but I can’t access transcript. I just read an article about the irs not doing offsets as part of the corona reliefl package or something. Google irs to hold offsets for low income families so hopefully we are in that approved group of people! Anyome heard anything yet? I went to sbtpg (I had fees taken out) site but they havent received it yet

I woke up that message of code 203 as well. Called offset number and said no debt was owed. I only have default student loans and that is on hold right now. Anyone knows what’s going on.

Oh, thereyouare,
Same with state offset. Wmr says by March 1st. Ddd date on transcripts 2/24
Called offset line shows no offsets, but there was last week.
Thoughts? Think I’ll have to wait till 1st since obviously they have already took state offset I had -

@Jon
Did the automatic service tell you it had already been taken out or did it just say there was no offset found. I’m just asking because I’m confused. I can’t check my transcripts due to past identity theft issues.. and I don’t think I owe anyone anything… I’m just confused 😐 -

I had a message for offset today. Call the offset number it’s already been taken out. Doesn’t give ddd on wmr just that if I don’t receive by the March 1st to check back. Ddd on offset line said 2/24. Who knows. Already been 30 days since I was excepted on 1/21. More drama. Sure when they do send them HR Block will give me some more drama. Just seems to be a rough tax season can I please lord have my money that is needed for my kids. Good luck everyone

A little update, my DDD was 2/22 but wmr stated I should have it before the 27th due to an offset. I checked WMR this morning it showed the reduced amount and DDD. I called the offset line and showed no offset due, meaning it had already been paid. Sure enough I checked my bank account and it was there. I bank with Texas Regional Bank. Good luck to all.

@ Oh,thereyouare
Can you tell me from your experience with receiving the remainder of refund after an offset, was the remainder of the refund sent quickly ex. the day code 846 states or is there a delay? Thanks for your help.

Can you please tell me what number you called? I woke up to the same message and keep trying to call the offset number and it’s not working
Yeah, same for me. You press 7,1,1 and the fourth prompt tells you they’re having a system error.

Yes @Tiffany I called 1-800-304-3107. I truly hope I receive it like it’s stated before February 27th. My transcript shows DDD 02/22 so keeping the faith it’ll be a smooth offset adjustment.

@arielle, wife has student loan debt. I did not file IS this year. We’ll see what happens. Filed on the 10th, accepted and have one bar WMR, transcripts NA.

Hi! I saw that there is an extension on student loan offsets (that they will not be taken until may 31st 2022 I believe)
I am wondering if anyone that has received their DD had an offset for student loans or not. Last year they took mine but refunded back months later

Yes, it’s possible. Once approved, the offset takes place. Some wait longer, some do not. Sometimes it is case by case.
Source: I have a State offset every yr that I have been paying for a couple yrs, will be until debt is repayed. Refund is approved, offset adjusts refund amount, refund is released and deposited.
