What’s with the semantics. It doesn’t matter if the employer sets it aside. They set it aside because otherwise, the IRS would take it lol.

And it’s fine, that’s how our country works. But sometimes they owe us.

The point is, although they make sure they get theirs (usually; tax evasion IS possible), they aren’t standing outside your company’s payroll department, figuratively, with their hands out every time you get paid, so there’s no sense in saying that’s a reason they should be quick to send refunds.

Regardless or not if you elect on your W-4 form with your employer to have taxes taken out or not, the IRS still gets your money either way for federal, silly. Either out of you paycheck or you pay in at tax time.

This talk about the IRS “taking” money from every paycheck is silly. The IRS doesn’t do that; your employer sets the money aside to send to them (and probably in a lump sum at certain times of the year) IF you arrange to have withholding via W-2.

If you choose not to withhold enough, you’ll owe and then the IRS will demand that you send in estimated taxes four times per year. But they won’t just go into your check and take it until you have a sizeable and long tax debt, at which time they will start garnisheeing you.

I’m hoping we see something this week. Today was my daughter’s birthday and an IOU was her gift. Thankfully she understands my situation but I feel awful.

Anyone know if shits suppose to update tonight or not? This delay shit is so damn old already.

They can delay our refunds but the mf don’t delay taking that shit out of my paycheck bi-weekly

Accepted 2/12 TT lost bars after 21 days no tax topic. No bars, no topic. amount on side and status was shown. Then info incorrect from about 7th-now ” we can’t provide you any info” just checked and it’s back to refund still being processed … ” no tax topic , no bars. I ordered transcripts by mail like a week ago still haven’t I got them. I feel good. I feel like things are being straightened out and moving. The delay ⚠️ gone from irs site too Fingers crossed for us all.

I was accepted 2/14 and they claim it was actually accepted 2/16. So they won’t talk to me until tomorrow.

@GIveMeMyMunah oh yes same here with my daughter. She was accepted the 10th and had her lil refund 3 days later.

@OverIt what is odd is my son was filed the exact same time as mine and he has his return. Granted he is 16 so it was only like $25 but still. I understand my $11K return is a good size and needs a review, but if that is the case tell us that. Don’t say “we have it but other than that kiss our @$$ on getting your money this year”

I’m also reading that some people are being told that they were actually accepted on 2/16 instead of the 12th or 13th like they were initially told.

See, I guarentee something happened to that batch between 2/11 and 2/13. Everyone else seems fine!

@OverIt he didn’t like when I said if I dont see movement by Monday I will be calling daily. He also was upset when I asked why someone who just filed on Tuesday of this week has a DDD and a mass amount of us that filed on the 11th and 12th are still sitting in the dark and being told “we’re backlogged so get over it”.

@GIveMeMyMunah as it should piss you off. I get they’re busy but isn’t it more productive to actually help us instead of giving thousands of people a reason to have to call back. They’re just making it worse!!

                                      @ Over It.

I’ve noticed that trend too. I think the fact the guy put me on hold for like 20 additional minutes when I talked to him he didn’t actually look at my return. When he asked my husband’s name he didn’t ask for his SSN or anything else. I think he just wanted a chance to eat or smoke or even take a piss and decided to claim he was looking at my return. I mean he told me they would get to it when they get to it…That ticked me off big time.

From what I’m seeing, many people are being told one of three things:

That their return is in the errors department

That their return is still being processed and they need to allow additional time due to the IRS being backlogged

Or… that they should see something Monday and to call back next week if nothing

Keep in mind, some people called multiple times and were told all 3 by 3 different agents lol

I just got off the phone my tax is in error resolution and he said it’s easy to fix it is just matter of its agent going into it ANF fix it and process it I was told it can take between 4 to 8 weeks wtf for a simple error never received letter stating the issue I think they are making things up since they are behind , there are no errors just scarring people and making them panic , I tried to check transcript wasn’t able to enter them hopefully they are working on so called error 😆

weird thing is, I do have an as of date of 3/15/21 on all my 2019 transcripts…kinda odd. ANYONE known what that means as far as my 2020 returns?

this tax season is insanity. They have never taken this long to update and issue a DDD. Normally like clockwork we have our DDD between 2/17 and 2/24. at latest. Why are they taking this long? My return is so very simple as per the norm. accepted 2/11.

Yes – they said I’m in error resolution and it will be at least another 3 weeks for a refund or letter but I think he made the timeline up.
