Just got off the phone looking for some insight to why my refund hasn’t moved since 1/20. The Jackson Hewitt representative informed me that because I filed using their online service and did not go into a branch office, that they can not access or help me with information on my return. I’m paying about $150 in total for that service and the rep got nasty with me like I was dumb for calling to ask about my account. Never again.

I used their online service and got my DDD yesterday morning so I truly don’t think they’re too blame for any delays and even tax preparers can’t tell you anything really until the IRS approves the refund.

I used to work for them. If you were transferred to a branch, we had 0 training or information on their online service, and the call center would route the calls to us tax preparers regardless. But all the same, once your return is e-filed, tax preparers usually have the same resources as you to find out if it’s been accepted/approved. Tax preparers are not irs consultants and have no special Intel on the timeliness of your return. That stated, I’m glad I’m not working this year because the calls would drive me crazy.
