I changed my last name and did it through the SSA, should this be a problem with the IRS? They do communicate with each other, correct? I went to IRS site and it says the only thing to do was to fix it though social security and get a new card. I did that and I am really hoping this isn’t why I lost all my bars. Anyone else have thoughts on this

I had a name change with the ssa, new baby address change all the above and my processing time was not different I called because I was worried about the name change and they told me if the as office changed it then I will be fine. As of now I have had no issues my aunt works for the Irs and told me that I was done processing but had to wait for my refund after the 15 with everyone else.

When you do an info change, you change from Daily to Weekly processing. So it’ll be slower than normal. They validate your SSN and name against the Social Security Database and Credit Reporting sources. So it’ll catch it and you should move through no problem. But do expect to take the almost full 21 days unless there’s something else that flags a review.

Have either of you ladies heard anything? I had a name change as well and lost bars on WMR, not sure what to expect.

I lost ours bars too this morning message saying we received your return and it is being processed. We got married in July and I changed my name with SS office and got new card….could that be whats going ? Other then that basic return…no child credits.
