My tax return story

Hello all! Just wanted to tell everyone my story here…
I filed through turbo tax on 2/19. I filed Ctc, lookback, eitc, and I started a new business in 2020 (making jewelry on etsy, on the side) w2 income as well. My fees with turbo tax was supposed to be taken out of my refund.

The only change that I seen on wmr throughout this whole process was that my bars disappeared after about 2 weeks. Up until now it hasnt returned. I expect that it will tomorrow though. Just has been showing “your return is still being processed, a refund date will be provided when available.”

I never received any kind of letter from them other than talking about the stimulus that I had already received..

I tried to wait semi-patiently here.. up until May I didnt even consider calling the irs. As soon as May hit though and I was laid off from my normal job here, I was constantly trying to call them. Never getting through no matter when or how I tried to. I was however checking my transcripts religiously lol I counted over a 100 times that I got a code to my phone to login. Sometimes 3 times a day hoping for a update. I did receive a lovely little email thiugh on May 5th from turbo tax saying that they were so sorry that I havent received my refund but May 7th they were going to take their money from my account anyway.. over $300 but because I was laid off, I didnt have it.. So I wont be doing business with them ever again!!. My as of date changed from 3/22 to 5/17 and then back to 3/22. Up until today.. when I updated to that glorious refund issued code (846) with the date of 5/26 next to it.

It was very discouraging for me to see all the people who filed after me receive theirs before me. So I just wanted to tell my story here in the hope that you as well dont get discouraged. I kept seeing people saying that it is coming… i feel like that is easy for others to say.. So I’m hoping that everyone is well and that everyone has better fortune than they did in 2020.
