My story please help

I’ve had issues starting since last year.
Last year , I was told I had to do a amended 1040x so I do the amended form. 3 weeks later I’m told I should receive a letter. Wait two weeks no letter. I call back was informed it went to another address. I go to the irs office and was told the letter was to I’d verify , the rep verified my I.d and three days later I had my refund. Now they sent me the original 1040 refund amount not the amended 1040 x amount. So I’m told I owe 662 in taxes. This year , I file 2/5/2021 come 3/1/2021 my bars disappear and I have the message my return is still being processed and a refund date will be given when it becomes available. I never and still have never lost the amount to the left or anything just the bars. I have called multiple times I’m told there is no errors , no flags and they have not sent any correspondence. I called for a tax advocate last Wednesday (9days ago today) I still have not been called back. I called Monday because my stimulus was direct deposited into a new account that I used for direct deposit this year for my tax return. I used Turbo Tax to do my taxes. The rep advised me I was under review. I had a w2 and unemployment , address is the same and so are my dependents and filing status. He said it could take up to 10 weeks from when they accepted my return which was 2/12/2021 but they did not start looking at EIC ACT returns until the 15th of February. So he advised I wait until 10 weeks from 2/15/2021. This is so confusing and misguided. I am so frustrated. I have my father who is fighting Cancer and I’m a single mother of three sons. Landlord is a missing person who hasn’t made a payment on the house since 2019 and the house is in foreclosure. I don’t know what to do anymore. I am so frustrated , it’s been a hard year followed by so many uncertainties and now I have to worry about a roof over my family head. I could really use the refund.

Great news TA called and said my DDD would be 3/24. And they owe another 35 dollars from 2018. Thank you all for trying to help.

I don’t know tje validity of this, but someone posted on here that tax advocates have been told they cannot help anyone right now due to IRS backlog.
There are so so many people that filed in the same time frame as you did and are “still being processed”. They’ve all been told to wait up to 10 weeks simply because irs is behind. I know it absolutely sucks.. But wanted you to at least know you aren’t alone.

@shelby First off, I am sorry for what you are going through. This may be no help but I have a feeling that you need to id verify again even though you have not gotten a letter. Maybe it was sent to the wrong address as your was last year. Do you have an IRS account? If not and you are able to get one, you could then go online and verify. I had the “still processing” and did get a letter. I am now being processed. But, it is worth a try. Good luck!

Look up your US representatives, the congressman for your area. Write them an email or mail a letter explaining what’s going on and the IRS is doing nothing to help, you can’t a TA to call you back and they will handle it from there.
