We are:

1. Credit card debt.
2. Pay an extra month on rent
3. Take the kids to see the Lion King play. 🦁
4. Maybe open a high yield savings.I’m reading through everyone’s responses for ideas lol. I want my money to make money, if it’s not being used.

Life insurance policy, whilst still healthy. For myself and my kids. I’ve pre-qualified for 350k for myself. I’m looking into a million. Perhaps 50k each for the rest of the family. Not putting it off any longer! Yet hope and pray I never collect.

Kids first. Two smallest ones need new clothes and shoes and the older two could use extra as well.
Saving the majority of it to throw my mate a proper birthday party in May!
Getting a dentist appointment out of the way and my yearly checkup.
New glasses and eye exam. -

I must say this tax year, it’s amazing to see how much this money is being put to good use. Not like the “rumored” TVs nails hair vacations alcohol. As a tax Preparer this makes me smile people are investing in their and their kids future!

Putting $1000 in savings .
Paying my auto insurance for the year.
Putting money aside for school clothes for the kids in fall
Putting money aside for our annual trip to an indoor water park
Paying off my condo for beach vacation
Paying off credit card that is about to charge interest
And my favorite ..
I co-signed a motorcycle loan with the guy I was with for 14 years … it was unsecured . I work at the place we got the loan so I can not default on it or I’ll lose my job and my credit score means to much to me … we broke up almost 2 years ago and I have been paying on that loan every month… I am paying the last $3k on it . Good riddance’s . I got the bad end of that deal. -

Trying to buy a house at the moment, so won’t be spending a dime of it till we close (hopefully we close) then paying for the rest of our vacation, paying off a credit card, stuff for the kiddos, and stuff for the new house if we get it.

Let’s see.
1.) Pay off a loan from my mom
2.) Get gas lines ran to finally get the damned furnace that’s been sitting in my basement for 2 years hooked up (don’t hire family, people. Just don’t. Way to much money I’ll never see again shirt if taking a cousin to court)
3.) Fully functioning stove. See ‘gas lines’ in previous point.
4.) Am pregnant, today is actually my due date. So finish baby odds and ends once he gets around to making his appearance.Should leave a little left for random uses. Probably getting existing kids a thing or three and go out to dinner or something.

Get money buy son a $1000 cd or bond like I do every year, pay 2bills off, buy gold coins, buy more stock in BP oil or ExxonMobil. Do while I can credits don’t last that many years, make most of them. Prepare for future. Good luck everybody.

I’m going to get new tie rods and brakes (hope that DD comes soon).
The rest I’m going to put toward a few trips abroad (along with any extra money I can save), over the course of a year to get some desperately needed dental work done – root canals, bone grafts, implants, fillings, (the pain I’m in is unreal). To look at me, you wouldn’t know I have dental issues, but I need some pretty major work done – can’t afford it in the US.
And, I usually give myself about $500 to just spend on things I really, really want – this is the only time of year I get myself anything.

I make my last student loan payment in February, we’re going to use refund as down payment and student loan money as payment on a new car. We’re also going to upgrade 1 cell phone on the family plan. Practical stuff. Though I’d like to spend some foolishly on a new watch.

February 12, 2020 at 6:55 am #4347014Liz
Paying several months ahead on rent, fixing a few issues with the car that cannot be delayed anymore, annual vet visits for the pets, paying one 6 month lump of car insurance & setting the other 6 months aside because it’s nice to not think about it come Christmas, tag renewal & putting the rest into savings because it’s saved our ass more than once before. I know people who blow their entire refund on booze, jewelry and eating out and can’t figure out why they’re still flat broke. I want to crotch punch them for the stupidity.

I desperately need a new bed as my amazing one that was only 1.5 years old got moldy in a storage unit that got moisture in it due to heavier rainfall/ more rainfall than we usually get so I have been sleeping in a twin mattress on a queen box spring… I also want to replace the tires on my car, pay car insurance for 6 months, my tabs for my car are due soon, and maybe a little weekend vacay to the twin cities!

I am paying off the last little bit of our debt, getting my husbands truck and our van fixed up for our oldest son to have for his 16th birthday. Going to Sam’s club and stocking up the pantry, paying our insurances for the year, and get our other utilities paid ahead as usual, then anything left is going to savings.

And I agree w OP. I try to lighten the mood here, too! Some want to keep it totally to the point. Which is their prerogative. Others, don’t mind a bit of humor and fun. Take the road less traveled off the beaten path – that’s where life is.

Going to invest in my flipping business. Then possibly (as my daughter in law, alerted during Christmas holiday, “we’ve not taken a family trip”) – take a family vacation! And I have an suv that has been sitting awhile, contemplating getting her patched. IDK. Other than that, it goes as usual, savings! I hate being broke so I penny pinch all yr. In fact, I have money from last tax seas!
All the best everyone!
Enjoy!! -

-

I didn’t think *everyone* would want to share. But I know there are a lot of people out there who get excited to be able to buy stuff they can’t afford throughout the rest of the year because bills. Hell, I could have posted about my broom standing on its own 🤷🏻♀️

Hubby and I bought Chinese knock off motorcycles this year and invested in a bud hole, so we are paying those off. I got a chuckus and he got a rebel clone. Excited to pay those off, as they are about $500 a month.

@Brennan I sure have not I’m a Pather just like most of the people here. However, this isn’t my first rodeo and I already know that nothing is gonna happen this week, so why stress about it? I’m all for dumb topics so I don’t have to read the same posts and comments disguised as new over and over. If you thought it was stupid, you could have kept scrolling 🤷🏻♀️
