Last year, I filed on 2/5 and received my refund in my account on 2/16 at about 5:30 pm. I never moved past 1 bar and was never given a direct deposit date. This year I don’t think that I will be as lucky but this is what happened last year.

Irss.gov newsroom on irs website post daily. They specifically state returns on PATH will be updated by the 23rd for most of those who filed early. Not on the 23rd they state by the 23rd. If returns can’t be released before the 15th which is this Friday it would make since the first update will be this Saturday at midnight along with it’s usual Saturday morning update. So between Saturday the 16th and Saturday the 23rd you should be updated on wmr for those on path who filed early.

This is all nothing but speculation. No one on here has “inside knowledge” Why do people insist on putting out false information?
I have been a PATHER for years. I NEVER get the PATH message on wmr. Last year I got my deposit on the 22nd, or somewhere near there, and still had only 1 bar.
I have over the years used TurboTax, TaxSlayer, and H&R block. Once the taxes are accepted by the IRS, it makes no difference who you used to file with.
Please stop spreading false information and rumors.

Taxpayers who claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit may experience a refund hold. According to the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act, the IRS cannot issue these refunds before mid-February. The IRS expects the earliest EITC/ACTC related refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or debit cards starting February 27, 2019, if these taxpayers chose direct deposit and there are no other issues with their tax return.
Where’s My Refund? on IRS.gov and the IRS2Go mobile app will be updated February 23 for the vast majority of early filers who claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit. These taxpayers will not see a refund date on Where’s My Refund? or through their software packages until then. The IRS, tax preparers and tax software will not have additional information on refund dates, so Where’s My Refund? remains the best way to check the status of a refund. Where’s My Refund? is only updated once daily, usually overnight, so checking it more often will not produce new or different results.

A lady on a facebook thread mentioned the same kind of pattern. For the past 3 years, she missed the PATH update for the first Saturday of February, updated to PATH the second Saturday, and then had a DDD the following Saturday.
My situation is the same as this. Filed 1/29. Didn’t update to Path on 2/2, but I did 2/9. Its looking good for this Saturday for the Pathers who filed between 1/28-2/2 -

My DD last year was on Saturday the 17th. Let’s hope we follow the pattern again.

I’m pretty sure at 12:01 am on 2/15 the 846 will automatically release once the path lifts weekly/daily doesnt matter at this point. Then everyone who is already fully processed will see a ddd of 2/21. I dont think wmr will update though only transcripts for saturday and then 1st money hitting prob on 2/19 bc of weekend and presidents day. Just my opinion

I’ve never gotten the path message before my DDD and I’ve had it for several years….not sure why that message seems to skip people

I was a pather last year too, and even though my accountant told me it wouldn’t deposit until the last week in February, my direct deposit went in on the 16th.

I thought so too.. Bc DDD in 2017 was 2/23. 2018 was 2/22 so moving along this year would be 2/21. However, people ate saying its “impossible” because the 15th is on a friday n transcripts cannot update on fridays. Ugh
