Okay I realize it’s the IRS and none of their processes make any sense, that being said, I’ve been all over these forums in the past few days. I’ve read topic after topic, experience after experience this year and here is what I have learned about this 2017 tax year.
After reading extensively I have concluded that everything this year is completely random. So if you are scrolling through trying to find peeps with similar info or situations to get a concept of what to expect or to compare to try to figure out when you will get your money, I can give you advice thus year. It will do you no good. WMR doesn’t seem to even attempt to be accurate, seems to me they just posted random generic DDD if 2/22, 2/23, 2/24, etc. IRS doesn’t seem to have any kind of system setup other than random, as your accepted date makes zero impact to how soon they will process it or when they will.
Some people have filed in February, even a few days before the 15th and have their refund, meanwhile many files in mid January and are still waiting.
I can also verify that the sbtpg. Doesn’t seem to be communicating properly as some have said they have their funds and the website still claims they haven’t received it.
Also your own banking institution or whether you use a prepaid card seems to make zero difference, as some have it and some don’t yet they have all the same info reporting back.
So I hope this helps some people, by letting you know that quite simply thus year is beyond fubar as far as trying to get anywhere to see anything to find some sort of status. For some the systems seen to work, for others it appears to not help at all. And the best part of it all is there are kinks in the system all the way through, from beginning to the end. Some people having trouble with its, WMR, tpg, their filing company and even their own banking institution.
Not to mention with everyone in edge and checking inline statuses constantly is causing all these servers to crash and cause even further issues.
So sadly for the majority I feel there is no real set in stone way to accurately find out what is going in with your money and you’ll simply and quite blindly get it when you get it.
Hard freaking pull to swallow even for myself. But for instance, my situation is I was accepted 1/25, didn’t get WMR update til the 18th, switched to approved with a DDR of 2/23, checked TPG and they haven’t received anything from IRS yet, but with the reports I’ve read that could mean squat and I could have my funds in the next two days, but I highly doubt it. But from what I’ve read this year it is happening to a lot of people, so there is no way to know for sure this year…
