Meaning of lost bars

I was checking my updates, at 11pm I had the one bar -.- and now I lost all my bars with the message that “my return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available.” There is also the Tax Topic 152 that refers to the refund information…

Is lost bars a bad sign? I filed on 1/21 and Turbo Tax MyRefundApp states I won’t possibly get a refund until 2/20/16

I just got off of the phone with a rep from the amended tax return department who helped me big time last year and he told me this. I lost my bars this past Friday and have had the generic message since then. I filed on 1/22. He said that my return was kicked out of processing because of some systematic issue the IRS had last week and that my return was just reentered into the processing queue and needs to be released for approval he said this could take up to 8 weeks. I have simple return people. No EIC and no offsets. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this guy is straight up, no BS. I am beyond frustrated.

I had this happen to me. I finally was able to get a nice irs agent on the phone yesterday. I was told to call the Tax Payer Protection Program at 800-830-5084. The voice on the line says to have all your tax docs from last year and this year’s on hand. I called twice but was on hold for extended periods of time. There was a message that repeatedly played that said if you received a letter, there r two different ones, then to go to the IRS website idverify.irs.gov to verify your identity. I figured since I was on hold for so long both times, I would try it. I verified my ID successfully and it read my return would now begin to be processed again and it would be up to 6 weeks. Really disappointed w the IRS and TT. Most likely your issue too. TT got flagged for fraudulent returns in 18 states so it’s affecting a lot of people negatively. I filed 01/24 and was accepted an hour later that day. My bars, everything disappeared..

I filed 1/12/16 Was accepted the same day. Got one bar that day on WMR as well. on 1/30 bars disappeared. Haven’t gotten them back. Can order account transcript but not refund transcript. I called today. Women I spoke to was nice and placed me on hold for a few minutes. She said she saw nothing holding it up; they technically didn’t start accepting returns till 1/19. Said it could be a few more weeks. No letters were sent out either (Thank GOD!!)

As long as you have 152topic you are fine. Basicaly the irs is a full week behind the bars disappeared because they are having a tough time meeting 21 day time frame
