I have two questions…1st Is the PATH ACT now a permanent law? and 2nd I had a coworker who filed same time as me and has both EITC and ACTC, she said she had already recieved her state (Wisconsin). my understanding is that the state was suppose to be held just like the federal until Feb. 15th. so my question would be is she lying just to sound special, because I haven’t received anything? Thanks in advance for your reply……

Thanks @NiKesha and @Greg Krowitz. I filed 1/16 and was accepted 1/17 I have both EITC and ACTC. I know I had to wait until feb 15th I just wanted to get it over with (lol). Well I guess Ill hear something soon with my state, the site says that they received my refund and its being processed so hopefully a change will come soon. thanks again and that sucks I dont like the PATH ACT…

The Path Act is only for the IRS.

Some states have decided to implement fraud protection procedures of their own that can delay refunds. This is not directly related to PATH Act. Apparently WI is not one of them.

Only a few states (including mine, ugh) are affected by PATH. Most aren’t, as I understand it.

i believe the Path act is a law that was passed so yes, unless it is vote to be removed, it’s here to stay. I filed and was accepted 1/.23 with EITC and a week ago i received my MO state refund, so i would assume state refunds, if approved and processed, are not affected by the PATH act. The PATH act only applies to federal returns.
