Okay, TT is showing I’ll get a refund of over $22,000!! Is this even possible???? I’ve been in limbo since I filed on 1/30. I have the processing message. This is freaking me out! Any help would be great! Just an FYI: I’m claiming my 2 kids (married, filing joint) and I have education credits. But still…..22,000…..

It can be 22,000 if you have the type of job that has taken out too much in taxes. My husband works in car sales they do a flat tax we we always get 15,000 to 19,000 back in taxes

We are getting over 15k back. Our AGI is over 170k though. Mine has finished processing and transcripts updated with refund being issued as is. One step closer. Filed 1/31 and it updated today. Hope this helps.

I make just under $125K per year and my refund this year is slightly over $16K. So yes, that is possible if you are making good money with tax credits.

Umm, basically that’s saying that you paid $22,000 in taxes over the course of the year. The only way that’s really possible is if you’re making 6 figures, well above $100k.

You’ll get a 570 if they put a hold on the refund. 22,000 seems really high. If an error caused the refund to be that high you can count on a thorough second look .

It’s possible, Ive seen them in that range before.

@Jeff- I’m so nervous!!!! I filed on 1/30 and haven’t heard anything back yet….just that processing message. Would the IRS correct the return if there’s a mistake? I’m freaking out! lol

Sounds like a bit too much! I thought my return was freakishly large at a bit over $10k. I am filing married joint with 2 kids and wife is unemployed. I also claim 0 on my w4 witholdings. So unless you give additional money weekly on top of claiming zero I think something might be amiss. All the better to you though if it’s correct!
