The IRS changed my refund payment method from direct deposit to check without explanation or my consent. My bank information that I entered on my 1040 was correct because that was the same account that I received my state refund via direct deposit this tax season.
According to wmr, my refund check was mailed on April 6th. I am concerned because no image of the check has appeared on USPS Informed Delivery. My father’s refund check was mailed on March 30th and he received the check on April 2nd. The refund checks were going to same address and both checks were mailed on Monday; therefore, I assumed that my check would arrive also on a Thursday.
I have submitted a missing mail claim with USPS. I have a feeling that someone at the post office delivered to the wrong address or someone took my check.
What should I do because the IRS is not accepting phone callers that connect to a live agent?
