This is my story last year with losing bars and just having TT152. The IRS received my my tax return on the 21st of January and for two weeks I was kept at only one bar and was able to order the account and not the return. The on February 5th lost bars had the message that the refund was processing and a refund date will be given. So I waited for the 21 day mark called the IRS and was told that my return was being processed.
After reading many threads last year about ID verification I decided to try it online. Each time it said that they could not find me in the system. I ended up not worrying about the return since I left the country for nine months afterwards and figured it would show up. Some time the next month received the under review letter that was marked for the 21st of February but didn’t get it till mid march.
Didn’t get anything else from the IRS. when I finally came back to the US right before Christmas I had a check from the IRS for the refund amount the only thing was it had been dated and sent the 5th of November.
I am not saying that this will happen to you. I didn’t call but once about my refund and just let it go since I didn’t owe the IRS I wasn’t too concerned but every year previous I had always seen the refund with in two weeks just found it messed up how they handled my situation since so many people actually need their return given promptly and when the IRS says they will.
