Losing Bars…Starting to see a trend here

Filed with taxact 1/23 accepted same day. On 1/31 was able to order account transcript no return. Same day check wmr my bars are gone, with the processing message husband’s bar is still there. Same jobs, eic and actc (our children) for years. I’m starting to notice ppl who filed with taxact is having the same issue. Anyone else experiencing this, or is this something kind of taxact issue? If it is taxact, maybe they’re the ones we should be calling!!!

So I checked the mail and no letters as of today Feb 8, I’m thinking if something was wrong or they needed more info, I would have been contacted by now, so I assume sigh maybe a glitch, maybe a review, maybe still processing, I guess I’ll find out Saturday or if I get a letter in the mail…any changes from you all??

Filed on 1/31, accepted same day with only a few dollars of EIC. Lost all bars and info on 2/2 and the message that they had received and it was still processing. I changed my last name this year and was worried I would be receiving a letter. Woke up this morning to check again and now have the Path message.

I lost my bars on 2/4 but have the amount still but no TT or anything.

Ugh this is beyond frustrating. It has to mean what it says, that they are processing them!

I ordered transcripts both account and return for 2016 but they had to mail them since I hadn’t ever requested them before.

There is a large update tonight, so I’m hoping something changes!!!!

I filed with taxact on 1/20. Federal accepted 1/23, va accepted 1/24. Filed head of house hold, no eic or actc. I remember seeing a bar and then it disappeared. Same message everyday for federal that it is processing. For state I have called the automated line and its as if my return wasn’t filed BUT today when I called state # it says it’s been received and being processed. Haven’t received any letters. Just waiting…

Filed 1/20/17 accepted 1/23/17 in the evening. Used tax act. Just child listed as dependent, no EiC or act. Has been “still processing” message. I dont recall ever seeing bars on WMR. Makes me think they are short staffed and cant get all of these returns done fast enough. I haven’t received any letters or anything. No topic messages or anything.

I filed and was accepted early. I have had the PATH message for over a week. Today, I still have the PATH ACT message but my refund amount disappeared. It has me a tad worried.

I think the trend is lots of people getting the processing message, regardless of who they use. Seems to be an unusually high amount of people this year. Some people are reporting getting the i.d. letter, others are reporting simply going back to bars without them having to do anything. I am beginning to think the processing message means nothing except exactly what it says. Still processing. It may mean you are under review, it may mean you will get a letter or it may mean they haven’t completely processed your return yet. I am enjoying it. I wake up in the morning, check WMR to see if I my number came up and I won the that day, and then get on with my day.

Same boat here but I didn’t use taxact. I was an H&R Block filer. Filed 1/23, accepted within 15 minutes. Mine has been on processing since 1/24, my wife is on one line. No letter. I didn’t try for transcripts.

I filed 1/18 and had no EIC or child credit either and bars went missing on 2/4. I think ours are processed and waiting to be paid out either tomorrow when big update or Friday. If not then then the following week. I can order both account and tax transcript for 2016 without problem.

You will get a PATH message or should soon. I got mine a maybe 1.5 weeks ago and have a processing date of 2-13-17 now. Its not just taxact. Your “bars” will be back after the 15th.

@Alex, I’m noticing that too, maybe we are not going to get processed completely until after the 15th smh trying to be patient but the unknown is killing me

On another forum I’m starting to see a pattern of it being with people who claim eitc and actc

I filed 1/25, and my bars disappeared 2/4.

I didn’t use Taxact however, I used turbotax. 😕

Filed single, no EIC or Child Credit.

@samoht thanks, I was starting to think I was the only one. Taxact better not had messed up lol. Please keep me updated as I do the same. Hopefully we will get some type of update soon.

I used TaxAct and have encountered an almost identical situation. Filed (jointly) 1/23, accepted 1/24, WMR bars and Tax topic disappeared 2/4, still have filing status and expected refund amount. When my spouse access WMR, 1 bar, tax topic 152, refund amount still listed.

Account transcript is blank, processing date changed from 2/13/17 to 2/20/17.

No letters. Spoke to IRS rep who said there’s nothing wrong, return is still processing.
