After reading many posts on this site, we called the IRS since it is now been over 21 days. Our transcript has codes 150-806-766-768-570-971. I have studied up on the codes and know that the last two are the troublesome ones. The IRS said that according to the date by the 971 that the letter will be sent then, for whatever reason. Then it will be 45-60 days that we may see our refund. By the way e-filed with Tax Act on 1/20 accepted within an hour. We got our Georgia refund within 10 days.
These “random” reviews are a bit crazy, or is it really that they are having that many issues at getting things caught up. -

@ Tee Mack I got the same thing. I called and they told me it was for income verification, they had to wait for my employers to send in W2’s. My wage transcript shows they received all three last week. Still no change. The IRS is messing with a lot of people this year. Call if you want to know exactly what they are holding yours for.

I just got off the phone with the TA office. They said I do qualify and said an advocate will call me by Thursday the 19th. Hopefully this will help.

We called the TA number found on this website. After speaking with someone they assigned us a TA who actually called. She is supposed to call again tomorrow, to see if everything is moving along. So maybe here in Georgia, there is one that is doing her job.

I faxed a 911 form to my State’s TA office about 3 weeks ago, heard nothing so call the phone number for my state and left a message a week and a half ago and still never heard anything. Did you call for your state or the 877-777-4778 number? I’m going to try that one today and see if someone there can help me. Again, congrats, it’s been a long stressful wait.

We never found what it was for, we got a TA that seemed to actually help us out. She called on the days that she was supposed to. I’m still waiting for the money to hit the account, but at least we see movement.

Congratulations!! Was your CP05 letter for income verification? That’s what mine’s for and has the complete date of April 9th. See other people get a DDD gives hope.

We are still waiting. We did get a call from our TA last Friday. She said she had requested it be released and that the IRS had 5 days to do so. So that was last week, and just going by her “word” there should be a change by Thursday or Friday. If we don’t see something by then we are to contact her or she will call us, again. This is getting really old, as I have not seen ANY change in the transcripts since February 5!

We spoke with the TA. She couldn’t find a reason as to why they had frozen our return. She said we should see something this weekend. I’ll believe it when I see it in my bank account.

Still no updates here either. Faxed a 911 form to TA last week but they have yet to contact me. I’m with you, bills can’t wait and I need to move. I will wait to file next year. Will probably receive this years return with next LOL

Another day and no updates. The TA is supposed to call us today. This is getting old and bills cannot wait much longer. It’s time to end this bloated tax code nonsense.

I can only assume that it’s because I am claiming my ex husband as a dependent. He is disabled but unable to get disability yet, so he made under $3k, so not required to file a return, I supported him all year. They may want to make sure he doesn’t file a return, I don’t know but they shouldn’t shuffle our returns to the bottom of the pile. If they have worked on it then they should work on it until it’s done, not give it to someone else.

I got a CP05 letter stating 45-60 days, wait and do nothing but it should be finished by April 9. This to me is unacceptable. We need the FairTax. Get rid of this nonsense.

Do they really think no one will be able to tell it’s all the early filers with the 570 & 971’s? My sister filed 1/21 and has 2 570’s and the 971. She had a new baby and they claim they want to check the validity of said baby. Well that’s a quick shot to SS, so why a ridiculous hold up? She has the identical codes I see on a lot of you early filers 806 766 570 570 971 I think….
I filed 2/6 and watched all 2/6,7,8,9,10,11,12 and so on all get their money, but not me of course. Yesterday I got a 4464c letter but it doesn’t have the code of what they’re looking into, it just has a zero. The letter just says we are reviewing we don’t need anything from you….. Unless we do. Sit tight 60 days.
A tax preparer said if they’re really looking at your specific stuff it’ll have a code in the upper right next to the 4464c. Mine is zero, so no code like a million others this year that got the letter. The tax guy said he did 33 people’s taxes and 19 got a 4464c letter. He said that’s absolutely unheard of and it’s just to buy them time. He said he can be sure not all are really under review.
Were any of yours the 4464c? If so, look for the code, or lack of code I should say. You want to see a zero next to it. I hope this might ease someone else’s mind, it eased mine a little when I found out the computer is sending them out in droves. It’s auto generated by their computers.
Edited to add… My transcripts are all zeros and no codes, not even for letter sent. I don’t get it at all.

My letter has the same end by date, unless of course “they” decide that more information is needed. They really should be more transparent as to what is going on. We as taxpayers do have their “Taxpayers Bill of Rights” but that is not enough. We should be able to call and not jump through hoops to be able to get to a real person. Even if they had true local numbers that tied back to a main system. If banks can do this, surely the IRS can. Maybe Apple or Google needs to take it over, lol. Those companies can at least make money.

I’ve got the same codes, this year is being crazy. Just too many people in my opinion “Under Review.” Need to be able to charge them a penalty for delay of game.

Still no real change. The only thing different is this morning (Saturday) WMR now has the amount of refund (was gone for a couple of weeks) and the topic 152 is gone, but still says processing, and no change to transcript, still 570 and 971, still haven’t received a letter.

Called IRS yesterday and was given NO answers concerning my 570/971. Was told to wait 45 DAYS AFTER FEBRUARY 23rd!!! He said if I didn’t hear anything by then to call back. So I called again today and pretended that I had never called before, the woman was a little more helpful… She said that my file was “under review” but that it did not say why?!?!
She said that I should get a letter in the next couple weeks telling me what to do and that if anything on my transcripts change to call back!!!
*sigh* I’m so frustrated! -

Exact same as some of you, cycle 20150404 with codes 570 and 971, I called on the 20th day (Monday) and was told that I should be receiving a letter any time, it had been mailed. He said the letter just states there is no action needed from me at this time and I should hear by APRIL 2nd!!! WOW, if they were working on it, why so long? I would received a letter stating what I need or my refund. I’ve been at the same address and same filing status for 5 years. I had an additional dependent is the only change. This is way beyond frustrating.

Those are the 2 same dates after my 570 and 971 codes. Cycle date is different, but at this point that doesn’t matter anything. I’m looking for the same answers cause it does look like early filing this year was not a help.

My cycle code is: 20150404 but from my understanding that cycle has passed!
My codes are:
150, 806, 766, 766, 570 (2/16), 971 (2/23)
I also filled on January 20th and it was accepted that evening! I was told by a man at HRB that he has seen a lot of people that filled on 1/20-1/22 having this exact same problem! He said he though it was a glitch on their end. I will be calling the IRS TODAY! I lost my job a couple weeks ago and my husband and I are counting on that money! Hence why I filled as early as I could!!! I helped numerous friends file their returns approx 1 week after I filed and ALL of them have their returns already!
If anyone knows of anything I can do to speed this along please let me know! -

Thanks Buck, I’ll try calling myself and see what “line” they give me.

I used the phone numbers from the contacts link on this website. They will get you to a real person. It does seem like everyone is hearing conflicting “stories.”

My transcript goes as follows
570 Additional account action pending
971 Notice issuedBoth have 2-16-2015. I haven’t received any letter to this point. I’m hoping all will be ok and refund will be released on or shortly after 2-16

I have both the 570 and 971 on my transcript too. I was told that the hold would fall off on the date next to the 570 and then i should get my money. I wasnt told that there was additional time :-(… I filed on 1/16 and accepted on 1/21 with h&r block.

I have the 570 and 971 codes and filed with Taxact on 1/20. I haven’t talked to anyone as of yet. I was able to file my kids this year and that’s the only thing different. I’m not sure what number to call and extension to talk to someone. Seems there are alot of people dealing with the same issue. Frustrating to say the least!
