The IRS gives different mailing addresses depending on “lived in state” (note that I cannot file electronically).
The address on my W2 and my tax return is my mailing address which is in a different state than my residential address.
I believe “lived in state” implies residential address; however, AFAIK, only my mailing address is on file with the IRS, so I’m wondering which address’ state I should use for determining which IRS address to mail my return to?
