i filed 1/20 got accepted 1/20 and was anxiously awaiting my refund. WMR has one bar and says “Your return has been accepted and is being processed’ with no errors. Then I received a letter in the mail from the IRS saying that they had a 1095 form that I hadn’t reported and I needed to send them an 8962. They say it will take another 6 – 8 weeks to receive my refund even though the stupid form didn’t effect my refund at all. Has anyone else gotten this or dealt with it last year? Does it really take 6 to 8 more weeks? I faxed the stuff in yesterday. I was totally banking on this refund this year. Go figure.

Seems like quite a few people are stuck in the 1095a boat. At least I’m not alone in the mess.

                ALLIE,

                What was the timeline?

When did you fax or mail the response to IRS

How many days or weeks from that day did it take to process through?

Good news! Was able to order transcripts yesterday and as of today 2 bars and DDD of 2/17. I had to log in using the new refund amount after including the 1095A form today for the first time though, just a heads up.

I haven’t gotten a letter from them yet or a code on Wmr but I know that is probably what’s holding mine up bc I received a letter from the marketplace stating that I had insurance March-June of last year (wish I would have known…I would have used it! ) so, I want to get ahead of the game and send the forms in. What are ya’ll thoughts on this? Oh and btw I work out of town and have no access to my snail Mail so even if it came I wouldn’t know for about 3 weeks…

                          Filed TT on 1/14
                          Accepted on 1/19
Received letter for 1095A and 8962 on 2/1. Faxed 2/2. Bars on WMR disappeared 2/6. Ordered return transcrips this morning 2/11. Called IRS — DDD 2/17.

They tell you 6-8 weeks but it shouldnt take that long.

                              Hi Allie,

I am also in the same boat.

No updates until bars disappeared on 02/06/2016

On Tuesday 02/09/2016 I received the very same letter as yourself and responded the very next day.

I recently retained an “EA” to handle the remaining process however, I pray it does not take 6-8 week to process through as informed.

We understand they process millions of returns daily however, they should consider individuals are not specifically relying on the money but it is money they over paid to a government that does not seem to care either way.

I will try my best to keep you updated on how it goes.

Email me anytime if something happens sooner than expected.

I am in the same boat accepted 01/19
Waited 21 days to get a letter stating that I needed to file form 8962 along with copy of 1095-A and page two of tax return showing change. Faxed all 02/08 now the hurry up and wait game once again. Hopefully they don’t take the full 6-8 weeks to process and I get my refund soon. The 8962 did add almost $400 to my refund.
