Letter 4464C received. Says verifying info on my return. Says don’t need to call. WMR changed on 2/10 from one bar to still processing. Letter dated 2/12.

Should I wait until the update tomorrow before calling. Should I call the tax advocate line?

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Same situation for me. Accepted Jan 22nd. Hearing the same basic. Wait 60 days. This is crazy.

I received (2) 4464c letters from the IRS. I filed my taxes electronically on 2/19/18, I received a letter 3/1/18 and then on 3/14/18. Both letters say the exact same thing. I’m not sure if I need to wait the 60 days from the first letter or second letter. Has anyone received more than one letter? I have a simple return that should not have any errors so I don’t understand why it was chosen.

Also, I would like to call the IRS but every time I call I get the auto response and there is no option to actually talk to someone. What number can I call to actually speak with someone.

So my husband sent in his return on 3/2/18 and received the 4464C letter dated 3/21/18. On the letter it has his name but with my SSN. We got married last year on June 24, 2017. So I filed single under my married name and he filed single under his name and claimed his son. I am just curious as to why they sent the letter to my husband with my SSN and we filed single.

Hey guys! Light at the end of the tunnel (Sigh of relief). I filed on Jan 22 and received 4464 c letter on 2/27. Today my status updated to approved w/ a DDD by 3/28! I did not get an advocate, I just waited. Fortunatley, the end is very near! If you have not received, continue to check every Saturday.

It is funny, but not illogical, that people are expecting the review period to be up on an exact date. The 4464 letter is just the IRS buying time. When the 45 or 60 days are up, they will just send out another notice if your refund is not processed by that time.

@Amanda. The thing that irks me about this whole 4464c issue w/ income verification is that for anyone who e-filed, you have to upload the W-2s w/ the return anyway. They should have this info already.

@KIM I guess just wait. Also, look at the date on the 4464C letter. Mine is dated 3-15-2018. All of us that received these letters w/ no further instructions are simply supposed to wait approx. 45-60 days. However, it could process sooner. Crazy!

Taxes were approve 2/4. Bars went away 2 weeks later. Then I got a letter dated 3/7 of a 4464. I called the IRS last week and the rep had no idea what I was talking about. He said “oh they are just checking your wages.”
Yesterday I called the tax advocacy and he said most were at random, that my return looked perfect and its a 60 day waiting period because 5 million other people are going through this as well! I am going to call everyday.

The bars are used to track the progress of your return. When you login to wmr. 1 bar for recieved 2 bars for approved 3 bars for refund sent. Sometimes they disappear when theres an issue or delay. Unfortunately most of us are delayed

Still under review spoke to IRS on 2-27-18 and they told me I would get a letter I received Letter on that Tues dated the 2-28-18 and says I need to do nothing and wait 60 days from the date of letter. checking status daily and no change I know I did nothing wrong but my plans to fix this car of mine are ruined and making the wear and tear even worse. I don’t think it should take this long mind you I was accepted on 2-1-18 and I even received my 3,200 advance

due to mine was accepted on 2/1 and showed a date of 2/22, the website states a date will be provided once finished processing… I spoke to rep on 2/27, and he asked had I recv’d a letter, I had not.. he stated that It is under review, I needed to do nothing, I should receive within 45 days after 2/15. The letter I received dated 2/27, (the same day I spoke to rep, ironically) states that it could take up to 60 days from the date of the letter to receive my funds.
I have never in all my years done anything to cause this, it is completely irritating to say the least.

I had the same thing happen I had one bar up until the 15th and then I lost bars and changed to your refund is processing. Then I have a letter in the mail yesterday that was dated the 12th it said that I was under review and there was nothing to do right now. Filed and accepted 1/26. I moved and changed jobs. I’m guessing that’s what’s up. I have yet to get a straight answer some people say that it took them forever and then some people couldn’t remember.

I filed on 1/19, accepted 1/22, one bar until 2/10 when it went to still processing. Maybe it was a simple thing and will update with tonight’s update. Since the ID verify a few years ago I only update on Saturday with DD on Wednesday.

I have never been able to see transcripts online. It doesn’t like any of my account numbers!

Wishing us all a lot of luck!!

Just received my 446C letter as well. Never had to go through anything like this before. filed and accepted 01/31/18, I always had 1 bar, processing and tax topic 152, never path or loss of bars. I got locked out from transcripts as well, as it won’t accept my credit card or auto loan which is nuts. This is so frustrating! There goes my chance at any possible update overnight… blah…. Letter dated 02/12/18, and notes to do nothing, yea okay ….. grrrr!

I called to ask for an update since it has been 21 days since acceptance. I didn’t say anything about the letter. The lady I spoke with was very pleasant. She said I’m sorry but it hasn’t been 21 days since we only started processin on 1/29. Even if you filed early that doesn’t matter. She said that the 21 days would be the 20th since they are closed on the 19th. She said that WMR has been wonky and there are tons of people calling with strange messages. She said the path act and eic credits that should not have triggered WMR for those that didn’t have those credits still got weird messages. She said not to worry at this point. Easy for her to say. I need my refund. But I’ll wait until tonight’s update and pray that I update with a dd.

I’m sitting here debating the same. I have no received a letter as of yet but I lost my bars on 2/9 and went to processing message so I know there’s an issue. I had this happen last year too. I did get a tax advocate last year and I think it was more frustrating than helpful for me. Some people got great tax advocates that helped them but I could never get in touch with mine. What they don’t tell you is that once you get an advocate the IRS will no longer give you any info, it all goes thru advocate. So with me not being able to get mine I was always in the dark until he decided to call. If I were you I’d try to call even though the letter said you didn’t have to, just to see if you could get any additional information. Depending on what they say then you can decide if you want a tax advocate or not.
