I just thought I would share the words of wisdom I have acquired this tax season through painfully waiting for my refund. I filed 1/14 And alas am at 1 bar still.

      1. Cheap merlot is absolutely terrible and wine hangovers suck. Note to self: buy more expensive wine once tax return is received.

      2. Don’t file early. Turbotax misspelled “deprioritized” when they told me my return would be prioritized when tax season comes to an open.

      3. For a Jew, I have terrible luck with the IRS and money.

      4. 21 days in IRS time is the equivalent of 21 days, 10 boxes of wine, 2 mental breakdowns caused by WMR, random bouts of hope and an additional 2-3 months for “processing”.

In other words, I’m having a great time waiting for my refund.

          Love the post! Good laugh!
Also I wanted to say that for the last 3 years my brother, who has a very similar tax situation as I, always files his returns mid january in hopes of beating the rush, & getting into those first refund release pools.
And every year, I file mine beginning/mid February. & I have, so far, always gotten my refund back before him. :)
Same situation this year, I guess we will see who gets theirs first! :)

Hopefully next yr everyone can ✋ until acceptance begins because yall clearly see yr over yr it has no advantage but to signal out fraud because withhdings and wages are not accurate due to greedy preparers enticing folks to file with their last check stub.

I have to say THANK YOU for your post!! I filed 1/25 and I have to wait due to the PATH act, I claimed EIC. Your post gave me a good laugh while waiting this out. So many people post such negative things on here and call others so many terrible names that is not needed. This is my 5th year on the site and this is the first time that I have genuinely chuckled at someone’s post. THANK YOU again!! Good luck and happy thoughts!!
