If you have this problem what have you been told? Talked to my tax preparer and was told sbtpg will be sending funds back to irs and a check will be issued. How long will it take to receive check?

@Mrs Hardaway The Oompa Loompa in the WH wants his signature on the checks. That alone could delay checks. However, the treasury claims they will start mailing by next week which is allegedly right on schedule. I would imagine it’s possible if the funds are returned to the IRS by this week, people could start getting paper checks with the rest of the country as soon as next week too.

@sarrabi Do you know how long it will take for irs to issue a check once they receive funds back. Since the funds have been released surely they won’t make us wait.

It means it was sent to the third party bank that handled your fees and/or refund advance payback. So yes, that’s the current resolve: if that happens, most of those 3rd party banks are returning the payment to the IRS who will mail checks to the address on your tax return.

The exception is Republic Bank who said they’ll mail checks to taxpayers instead of returning them to the IRS at no cost to the taxpayers.

Yea I’m really hoping they will give us an opportunity to put our direct deposit information instead of issuing a check

I wonder the same exact thing. I feel like they should at least have a window 5-7 days for us to update direct deposit information as this is not in our control.
