Does the IRS deposit refunds larger than 10k to a bank? I have a credit union. Someone said they don’t and I’m hoping that’s false!

One year, they mailed me a check but every other year in before and after, it was direct deposited into our credit union. I really think a lot of these issues are luck of the draw and who is behind the keyboard during our processing time at the IRS.

We had eitc, ctc and education credit since my husband was in school last year. The education credit gave us a nice chunk. All together, we’re getting 11k. My husband is in an apprenticeship and we have 4 kids so it definitely helps until he makes better money when he graduates

I got back 9982 on 2 dependents would have been 10.5K but i dont have insurance so that cost me 700 bucks. I made 47K and paid in 6K to fed I know a girl who made 15K working at Captain D’s and she had 4 dependents and shes getting back 11K. How does this stuff even add up? I get 1K less with half the dependents and I have 32K more through out the year. I think it should be the less you make the more you should get back but seems Uncle sam dont think that way greedy b@stard.

                      Here’s what I found…

The IRS has no dollar limit on direct deposit of refunds. However, direct deposit must only be made to accounts bearing the taxpayer’s name….

(**basically just that the number of refund deposits (maybe i misread but most def not a dollar amount, if they owe you 100k…you’ll get it!) per account are limited.

… The fourth and subsequent refunds automatically will convert to a paper refund check and be mailed to the taxpayer. For more information, see IRS Direct Deposit Limits.

I’ve never heard that, however I’ve never expected a refund over 6k so I can’t speak from expierence….unless someone can share a link (im about to do a Google hunt for you Just to make sure) that specifically states this, I wouldn’t buy it!

                            People will say anything! 🙄

….. someone said they had their 13,000 refund loaded to their food stamp card this morning😏😂
