I just got off the phone with a Ms. Goody and of course she couldn’t give me any information on my return but she did however say just because you have the path message doesn’t mean you’re done. That is simply warning you of the delay. She also said they are cross referencing a lot of information on all tax returns not just eic and actc. She also said that they cannot even start processing returns completely until February 15th. Those who are in the complete clear would more than likely start seeing refunds that week. Even if you have the path message and are able to order both transcripts, if anything is red flagged between now and then, your return would be reprocessed and under review. She also said losing bars does not mean anything, if it’s showing all of your information, it means what it says, it’s still processing. If anything is wrong, you would get a letter. Just thought I’d let you all know what I was told, let’s pray for some GOOD progress and updates soon!!!!

Aww, @Josh, that’s harsh! I’m sorry you are going through this. Looks like they are really knuckling down on everything this year.

@ Carrie.. nope filed same way for the past few years! Same credits, same kids couple dollars different income!

Now all of a sudden I have to prove I’m HOH!

I had path message and 152 tax code!

@sashz those 4 people are either lying, confused about what credits they actually have or maybe did a refund anticipation loan.

Hello all!!! I been coming here for the last two years now only viewing what everyone has to say. I was not going to ever post anything, but just see who all are experiencing the same situation as myself. So with that said:

                Filed:1/11
                Accepted: 1/13
                Ordered Transcripts: 1/27
WMR update to Path Act: 1/28
                Filed with: TT
Claim: HOH, EIC & CTC (not ACTC)
                Cycle: 20170405
                Processing: 2/13/2017
                Fees: SBTPG

I too just called and talked to an agent at 800 829 0582 x 652. She said she has NEVER heard of this website and was not sure where the info was coming from such as “a Big Update” tomorrow. She stated WRM update daily at night…she giggled when I mentioned Daily or Weekly per other threads, and said the transcripts processing date don’t necessarily mean anything. Also she said to inform those in question… her team had a meeting on the Path Act and to not expect any deposit in your account until AFTER 2/15, maybe not even on 2/16. She said when deposits are released it will take a couple of days for them to reach the banks and since there are millions to be released that is why the IRS website mentioned deposits are to be expected between 2/15 and 2/27. Also she said WMR will not update with a DDD until a couple days after 2/15 approx. 2/17 with DDD. The last thing she said was she understand now why there have been so many calls stating “well I was told this and I was told that…” and really what is mentioned on the IRS website is what it is. Before we hung up she said it is “possible for anything to happen”, but she can only go by what was discussed in their meeting and if any calls come on 2/15 stating they didn’t get their refund they are only able to say “the 21 days is not from the day you was accepted regardless how early you filed…if you have the Path Act, but 21 days from 1/23 (the original opening date) which is 2/13/2017 and from that date to allow up to 2 weeks for receive your refund which is 2/27 and can vary from financial institution.

OMG so now I don’t know what to think since like I said I have been reading this site since from the beginning this year when there was on 1 thread discussion and now there are so many I can’t keep up. @Tom and @Micheal I been reading your great advice, but is thrown off now since so many IRS agents story differs. Everyone else take from this what you will.. if it helps or not. Until next week, have a great weekend to you all IGMR posters!!!!!! :)

I agree, look at the facts…there are updates all the time and that said WMR says check back AFTER the 15th so that seems pretty cut and dry to me.

I noticed the term IRS Agent…people on the phone are not agents there reps totally different, people also have to take things said with a slight grain of salt being that the reps will tell you anything most of the time to get you off the phone unless its been 21 days since you filled and even then i would take what they say lightly.

I know of 4 people who have gotten there refund and the DID have the Earned Income Credit. Although the IRS says that it would NOT be released until Feb 15th. I did not claim either of the Taboo credits and I haven’t received my refund sooooooooooooo……it’s just the luck of the draw!

Hmmmmm….. But we can only wait and see… Yeah I heard about a big update….. But just don’t know….about the only thing I can do this weekend is go cash my Lil biweekly paycheck… Get a bottle of wine…. And sit myself down some where…. Lol it’s too much…

Have been able to order transcripts since feb 1st.. have path message since!

I got a letter today saying I’m being audited!

@Kaylee yeah, that is definitely along the lines of what I have heard about being a weekly – 6 or 7 years or something like that. Ick. I am going to file on another day of the week next time — not Thursday or Friday — and see if that helps, but chances are that I’m stuck this way for quite a while to come. Oh well, what can ya do, right? Thanks for the reply. :)

@Barbara if you think there is any chance you need to verify, I hope you will call and get that out of the way ASAP, since your return won’t go back into the system to process until you do. Better safe than sorry. Let us know how goes, k?

If I remember correctly, you stay as a weekly cycler for at least 6 years until you’re put back into daily. I changed my name 6 years ago and that’s when I was put into the weekly stack. This year it appears that I was on a daily cycle since I received the PATH message and was able to order both of my transcripts the first cycle that they completed the first batch of processing. Now it’s just the waiting game to see.

@Carrie101 wmr isn’t showing any Information though my tax preparer said Ive been accepted. Last year when this happened I had to call and verify Id before I could see any Information about my return .I sure hope its not the same this year.

It actually does mean that youre approved IF the transcripts are filled in correctly with the proper codes etc.

@NiKesha Sounds like a plan. As for the audit letter, try not to stress. More returns get processed without trouble than not. Yes,it sucks for those who got those letters, but hopefully you will not be among them. I hope not to be either. ;)

What’s the point of having the path act message if your going to
be getting a letter in the mail the IRS is so confusing

Mail is not here yet today. I’m expecting a blank account transcript from last week. Hoping that I can order the return transcript tomorrow and that it is complete and free of any nasty codes, LOL. I’ll keep you posted.

Was your account transcript blank? Mine were and I ordered by mail, so I don’t know if anything has changed.

                                                        When did you file?

Did you receive any info indicating that your refund was accepted, from your tax prep service or anything?

Were you ever able to get any type of status on WMR at any point during this tax season?

If the answer to the last 2 questions is no, that is very strange. If this is the case, I would suggest you call the IRS to see if they accepted your return or if they require further action on your part, such as ID verification.

They all tell you different things and basically what you wanna hear to get you off the phone. I don’t bother calling anymore because they don’t know what they’re talking about.

ONLY thing for sure is no one that path applies to is getting a date or FL refund date before the 15th so people need to be patient. I can’t wait until next week when everyone loses their minds because they have nothing just after too. Wait until after the 27th, then get all hot and bothered.

Even though wmr bars appear then disappear and just says it been received and being processed w/o the path msg, it’s processed and waiting to be released. So hopefully that all it is.

@NiKesha No, I was only able to order my account transcript last week. I am a weekly processor and am hoping to finish processing and be able to order my return transcripts some time on Friday. I am affected by PATH Act. I only have one bar and tax code 152 right now. I am hoping that will change to a PATH Act message this Saturday. Would enjoy a DD before 2/27, but not counting on that.

The reason I kind of know the gist of what is going on with transcripts, codes, etc, is because I was a part of a group last year with over 1700 members who were all resequenced early filers. It was a nightmare. Many of us experienced some type of delay on our refunds, ranging from a couple of weeks to months. Nearly all of us were put on weekly status once we were put back in the system for processing. For some of us, the weekly status could be permanent or at least long term.

Last year, EVERY time I called, I got a different response! My bank had took over a day and a half to release my money to me, so I talked to several different workers. One woman even told me that NOONE had received their refund yet, even though mine had already been released, and several people I know personally had already received theirs!!! The one thing that I do know is every year, when the IRS lets you order your transcripts, then your return is APPROVED

If all of this is true, you are probably just waiting on your DDD on WMR, or your PATH Act message before the 15th, and hopefully your DD sooner rather than later.

Doesn’t make sense. And if anyone gets a refund before the 15th, the irs is going to have thousands of taxpayers blowing their lines up. Me included.

And I’ve been reading and other ppl are saying irs agents have told them some unbelievable things, not saying they’re lying, I’m saying either the irs costumer service agents don’t really know or they don’t want the public to know smh I’m more confused now than ever lol

That the PATH Act message means you are done processing and awaiting your direct deposit date. So stressful not knowing what is real and what is not. I wish they would just be upfront with us. However, I must state that the woman I spoke with DID pull up my social. So maybe it is different for everyone OR maybe the IRS are trying to confuse us!!!

They literally tell you what you want prior to the 21 days since they cant even look at returns. The IRS posted a timeline and said deposits will start being made on the 13th (for those processing dates) for arrival in banks by the 15th.

She also said they have not gotten a direct deposit date. If you have a direct deposit date she said one of 3 things, either you did not have these credits, you had ctc and not these credits or they have determined you don’t qualify for the credits.
