I processed my return via H&R Block on 1/23 and was approved same day. On 2/1 I received the approved for DDD 2/8. WMR has since updated to deposit sent. I used my refund to pay for my processing fee with H&R Block. On 2/8 I received an email from HR Block stating that they have started the process of transferring my funds which should be released between 3-5 business days. I have used H&R Block for 8 years and I usually have my deposit the day the IRS sends the funds – so based on history – I should have had my deposit on 2/8. However H&R Block now uses a different bank so below is my story:
Fees paid: $29.99 – software to file return
$34.95 – refund account deposit fee (holds refund before transferring to my bank???)
My bank – local credit union. Makes deposits by 9:30am. No holdsHere is a recap of my interactions with them:
• 2/9 – no deposit – 22 minutes on the phone. CSR representative confirmed ACH transfer processed 2/8 and confirmed my routing and bank info. Rep also reminded me that I needed to wait 3-5 days. Suggested that I should receive funds by Friday (2/10).
• 2/10 – no deposit. 40 minutes on the phone. I spoke with a CSR rep who confirmed ACH transfer processed 2/7 at 10pm. Again confirmed my routing and bank info. Transferred me to a their bank expert who confirmed all the above. Banking expert reminded me that I needed to wait 3-5 days. Suggested that I should receive funds by Monday (2/13).
• 2/13 – no deposit. 1hrs 20 minutes on the phone. I spoke with a CSR rep who confirmed ACH transfer 2/8 not 2/7 and stated Friday rep was wrong. Again confirmed my routing and bank info. Transferred me to a their bank expert who confirmed all the above. This rep was rude, cut me off the entire time and barely got to understand what I was asking for so she started processing a cancelation for my refund because she assumed my bank account was closed. I requested a supervisor given conflicting information received. The supervisor was arrogant. Told me that he was going to transfer me to an automatic recording which could assist me better. He confirmed that no cancelation was processed and that I needed to wait the full 5 business days which would end 2/15. When I asked “ what should I do if there is no deposit on 2/15” his response was “ma’am with all due respect, I am a supervisor and I’m telling you that you will have it on 2/8” (yup… nice right?). He also cut me off, spoke over me and ended the call letting me know there is nothing he can do to help me until 2/15.
• 2/14 – no deposit. I didn’t call.
• 2/15 – SURPRISE no deposit. The first 2 times I called, after a 15-20 minute conversation with many holds, the transfer to the banking department ended up with a disconnected call. The third call – I asked to go straight to the banking department and after 14 minutes I was told the funds are still at the clearinghouse and that I should wait another 2-5 days or they can initiate an investigation which should be resolved in 5-10 business days…Today is 2/15 – business day 5 – calendar day 7 and I still don’t have my funds. Essentially I paid them $35 to hold my $ and give me zero info as to when I will get it….
Thankfully I am not in dire needs for the funds – I had just planned a few things around it… but wanted to share my experience and story. HTH someone else.
