So, I clicked on the TT152 portion of WMR, scrolled down and found this link: https://www.irs.gov/individuals/refund-timing .. While reading this link I noticed this:

“Where’s My Refund will be updated with projected deposit dates for early EITC and ACTC refund filers a few days after Feb. 15.”

Did you catch it? WMR will be updated A FEW DAYS AFTER Feb 15th…. It also continues on to say this:

“Will I get my refund on Feb. 15?

While the IRS will begin to issue EITC/ACTC refunds starting Feb. 15, you should not count on actually seeing your refund until the week of Feb. 27 — if you chose direct deposit or a debit card and there are no processing issues with your tax return.”

Now, I have said that there is NO way I believe it will take until the 27th for the early filers, I stand by that, and in this article their reasoning for saying that is “bank processing” and “presidents day”.. However, even those two things wont delay MY refund that long, as my prepaid card releases funds immediately. So we will see..

But, basically they are saying that they will start to release refunds ON the 15th, but that we won’t see a WMR update until a few days AFTER the 15th. Soooo.. This tells me that our money could be in our accounts even before we ever get an update. Which is fine with me.. I guess… Hopefully, this is to just temper expectations, OR, they really aren’t going to release WMR updates until the “Big Friday Night Update”..

Although, I feel like if I don’t get a WMR update ON the 15th, I am going to lose my G.D. MIND!!!!

@tracy well regardless I spoke to my sister in law and my bro in law and both had the actc. I still don’t know about my sister. So again, why did they all get it and not us? I guess it doesn’t matter now. However, wmf is STILL saying check after the 15th. This sucks.

If the IRS releases money today Feb 15th I would say the earliest would be the 17th if you didnt take out funds for filing and you have a prepaid like netspend. I dont see presidents day delaying an extra week for one day holiday. That doesnt make sense. I have always received my money before WMR updated…so I dont even look at that site. But who knows with the IRS. They can do whatever they want with OUR money. All we can do is wait and be patient. We will get it.

Irs website states that updates are made daily Mon-Fri, usually at night.I claimed HOH, EIT, 2 children, and as of now 5:40am 2/15. I have no pending transactions in my bank account, and WMR, gives no potential funds release date. IRS sure quick to take ur $. Slow as molasses, giving it back!!! GGRRRR

The Child tax credit and additional child tax credit are not the same thing. It’s not the fact that you have more than one child.

I have a feeling we are not gonna start seeing refunds until 2/27. Evenif you have a 2/13/2017 processing date. Found this info right on IRS website:

“Where’s My Refund?” Begins Updating Feb. 16 for EITC and ACTC Filers
By law, the IRS must hold Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit refunds until Feb. 15. Taxpayers will begin to see refunds claiming EITC/ACTC the week of Feb. 27. “Where’s My Refund?” will update for EITC/ACTC refunds beginning Feb. 16, with the vast majority updating by Feb. 18.

After all these years of filing so many people still get confused. If someone’s income is not within the given limits then they are not eligible for EIC or ACTC ! PERIOD!

@Gary-Child Tax Credit doesn’t get you delayed, it’s the ADDITIONAL Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Credit that are affected by PATH.

I’d assume they only had CTC and you have CTC+ACTC or EIC

My sister, sister in la and brother in law all filled with the child tax care credit and go their taxes last week. While I and my wife did the same and have the path act bs on where’s my refund page. Makes no freaking sense to me. I’m so done right now it’s unbelievable

Few people with eic are claiming they got refund today.

This info has been readily available and gone over in countless other EITC/PATH threads since before the 23rd. Nobody knows, and we won’t know until we see the pending deposits or MWR updates. That’s it.

This has been discussed here repeatedly…..they dont want millions of folks contacting them on the 15th, so ofcourse this is the wording they use
