They are emailing those who filed with them letting them know those with EIC and ACTC credits will be delayed this year

Thing is… I DO NOT HAVE THOSE CREDITS.

No I don’t have children. No I didn’t have edication credits. No I didn’t claim any other credits.

I filed 02/05 and I’ve been on the Path Act message since Saturday. Ordered both transcripts on Sunday.

I don’t understand why I have to wait when I am not part of the Path act…

Turbo Tax emailed me saying mine were accepted. I filed 1/31 and have been getting the same emails ever since. After the advertisement said free they still over charged me for the processing now they say the 27th of February I shall receive mine. First year I’ve ever had any problems.

I claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) on my tax return. When can I expect my refund?

                  • By law, the IRS is required to hold EITC and ACTC refunds until February 15. However, taxpayers may not see those refunds until the week of February 27 – if there are no processing issues with the tax return and the taxpayer chose direct deposit.
                  • Where’s My Refund? will be updated on February 18 for the vast majority of early filers who claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit.** Before February 18, some taxpayers may see a projected deposit date or an intermittent message that the IRS is processing their return.**

I filed on Jan 20 and ut was accepted on Jan 23. It showed accepted on the 23rd then every since then it says processing. I finally spoke with a rep yesterday because it was past 21 days and this chick was clueless. All she could tell me was, hum, hum, hum. So I explained that hum is not a answer but she was reading from a script and was a dunb as a sack of rocks snd since I had a simpke EZ firm with no credits fir childten or anything. She only said it processing and I can’t see it.

Amanda, the tax path message may have confused you but regular processing time for refunds is 3 weeks (21 days). You should receive your refund in that time frame. The new Path Act states that they would not release any refunds until after 2/15 but no you do not fit into this category. But please be mindful that even as a single tax payer if you make under a certain amount you can receive EIC for yourself. So please check your return.
