Just called and am VERY CONFUSED BY AGENT

I filed on 1/30
Accepted on 2/11
2/20 it changed to still processing no tax topic

I talked to the agent just now and he looked into my account for me. He said there is no error. He said my refund amount is 3050 but I filed for 4050? Then I questioned him about it and he said oh sorry looks like you are getting back 4075.

I said I filed for 4050 so why is it now 4075? He said he didn’t know. He said it’s probably going to take 4 more weeks to get my return? Even though there is nothing wrong with it. It needs to process. At one point he said it’s being reviewed then he said it’s not.

He said every single return has to be reviewed by a person?? That can’t be true can it? It felt like he was just making up things. Then when I would ask him about it he would change his ANSWER.

What?!

Read other threads in this forum, and you’ll see that the PATH Act resulted in virtually no wait for filers this year.

I waited a week to file (2/19), with EIC (but no Look Back), and then got my refund one week later (2/26).

I heard PATHERS were moved to 2/22. Does anyone know if this is causing the delay? Or maybe it’s just anyone who filed with Turbotax.

When the news started saying IRS recommends filing early I knew I had made a mistake by doing so. Most 2/11 filers are stuck at this point. Including me. I have never gotten all three bars before my refund but this is the first year my bar one completely disappears. Been like that since Monday or Tuesday it’s Friday no change yet.

WMR is saying still processing with no bars or tax code. It’s been that way for two weeks.

Sounds like he was trying to get you off the phone because it seems there’s thousands of people who can’t read and call when they’re told not to.

Sounds like he was just trying to get you off the phone and give you whatever answer possible to make you not call back, ie. the “it’ll take another four weeks” when in reality he probably doesn’t even know how to look up transcripts and was BSing everything.
