Do you think perhaps haunting the wmr site and calling multiple times throws a red flag?

I know at the financial institution I work at after a person calls multiple times in a short period ( a few days) the system is programed to auto flag and require the caller to verify more info than normal.

Repeated calls asking the same info can be a sign that something unusual is going on…..might be legit….but then it could be a sign something is not right.

Any financial institution is required to look for red flags and do their due diligence especially in these times of high ID theft etc.

Thoughts?

@Ellie now I am not trying to be argumentative with @WillBeas but I do know a very nice lady who went to bat for a huge group of us resequenced early filers last year. She made a large number of, shall we say, inquisitive phone calls on behalf of numerous members of that group, day in and day out. Oh boy, did they have that woman flagged! Her refund was held up for months, with no rhyme or reason, other than the fact that she was a major pain in the IRS’s, um, rear end.

In general, a few phone calls to get a straight answer shouldn’t flag you. But you might want to think twice about getting all ape**** crazy and calling them 20 times a day, whether it’s for a good reason or not. I’m just sayin’. ;)

ID theft occurs in January before people have actually received a w2. So in February when you file someone else has your money. The delay prevents this from occurring. Now there’s a problem when IRS gets a duplicate return.

Nah, we should be good. Theres a financial report out on how the IRS holdup has deminished consumer spending this time of ur based on other times of yr during this same period. They have issued 4x’s less refunds then previous yrs at this time, soooooo they know we wont our money to put back into the economy, they cant hold that against us!!
