My story: 1/29 filed
1/30 accepted1 bar from 1/30 to 2/16
2/16 in the evening everything disappeared and I got the “your return is STILL being processed”
Transcripts for 2018 all say “no return filed” or “N/A”
But I’m saying; isn’t it ironic? You paid your taxes all year, IMMEDAITELY. There was no delay for them to take taxes out, every week or biweekly, right on the dot, every single paycheck.
And if you were unfortunate and owed taxes, they immediately implement fees and penalties for “paying late”.
Yet if you have to wait over 21 days for your return, you simply get told “sorry, you’re going to wait longer”. They don’t pay us fees and interest for waiting. Why should we?
I’d be in jail or bankrupt so quick if I owed the IRS money and told them “sorry, you’re going to wait 60 days until I feel like paying you back”
Tax returns is an OVERPAYMENT to the governement. You basically let them borrow your money, interest free, for an entire year.
