4th year IS filer. Been through this every year never had an issue. This year with COVID, things were different. Filed 3/9/20 didn’t begin to check my transcripts until end of May. Should have got my refund in June if I counted 11 weeks correctly. Saw there was no changes to my transcripts, stuck on same 570 code. Cycle code was 1205. Began calling IRS to see if they were even working on it with no luck. from end of May to June, I got 1 person on the phone and they transferred me and ended the call. Every time the call was disconnected or a recording came on. After a month of no contact with anyone, I reached out to my congressman last week. Today I checked my transcripts and have an 846 code showing 2 days from now with $50 interest.
So if you can’t get IRS on the phone , contact the Congressman for your district. The guy who reached out from their office was a SSA/IRS case worker for my congressman. He was super friendly and helpful and I’d like to think he got the IRS working on my refund.
