    Wait For It

TOO MANY people have been told to wait 6-8 weeks for this post to not get an answer. Did you REALLY have to wait the full 6-8 weeks before you saw movement? I think I’m under manual review because they told me my return wasn’t processed correctly.

@Why so angry you are a hypocrite. you on here telling people to be patient but you remember the day you filed all the way til the day your bars went missing. sounds like to me you been checking it everyday almost, but you telling people to be patient. hell, i don’t even remember the day i lost my bars. your saying all this stuff only cause you finally got your return. that’s what this site is for, people need help and hope. some people wait all year for this to come by, and your bashing people only to sound good because your no longer at the same end they are. don’t get it twisted, i lost my bars to. i finally got a ddd of the 24th because i kept calling to get the situation resolved. one thing about these IRS people, they are very rude and unprofessional. they will give you the run around with the 21 day speech only because of policies. the policies they go by are that they are not obligated to research your case if it hasn’t been 21 days. not that they cant, they just found a way to cut corners. i know its true because my wife 21 days wasn’t up and she got lucky by speaking with a rep that was nice enough to look her up and tell her everything that was going on. i lost my bars sometime late Jan, because of the rumors about the id theft i verified online and passed. that next week i saw that people who verified over the phone got a ddd with in 4 or 5 days. my status was still processing. i called the irs and didn’t even see in the system that i verified, she just took my word for it, noted it just in case i tried to call back and ask the same question, and she told me to give it until may. a week later once again i see people left and right getting ddd after verifying within a week. i was shocked, so i called them back again but this time a lady told me my review case was still open for id theft, and after 2 weeks from verifying she said its no way my case should still be active. she said it couldn’t have gone through, so she gave me the protection number. by that time i had a tax advocate. i called the id protection line the minute i got off the phone with my advocate, i verified over the phone and passed. 3 days later i get a call from my advocate telling me my return was scheduled to be in my account Feb 24th. i woke up the next morning and saw a ddd of Feb on the wheres my refund site. so bottom line, if i wouldn’t of never been calling i would be still waiting for my return. so the 9 weeks bs is not true. my tax advocate personally told me they are trained to tell us that. she said it normally takes no longer then a few weeks. @Why so angry, don’t mislead people by telling them not to call because the IRS don’t care about no one getting a return. they will violate every right you have and delay your return if you let them. when they owe you, they give you the 21 day speech alone with the run around. when you owe them, they either take it by force or lock you up. i personally don’t believe it took you all the way til June to get your return, not for id theft. so to all you people on these thread, keep calling because the IRS will screw you over if you let them.

I was told I would have to wait 6 to 8 weeks too but got my DDD yesterday, but I did wait over 3 weeks.

i believe it depends on the problems the IRS comes across, and how fast they can resolve it.

I was apparently lucky. I had filed my taxes on 1/27, and was stuck at one bar on their “Where’s My Refund” page until this past weekend, when it vanished.

I waited until 2/18 to call the IRS. The lady I talked to informed me that my Return had been routed to the ID Fraud unit, but it was sent back to regular processing the day before. I didn’t even have to go through the ID process that seems to causing so much grief (but then again, I had been so consistent in how I filed my taxes over the years, it would have been relatively easy to determine it had come from the actual person.)

I was also told during that call that I my return had to be treated as a paper one, and that it COULD take as long as six weeks to receive my refund. However, this morning I checked my status on the mobile app, and not only had the bars come back, but my status had changed to “Approved,” and my refund should be deposited into my bank by 2/24.

                Why so angry

Calm down! Last year I didn’t get my refund until June due to identity theft. Just be patient and you will eventually get it. The best thing you can do is just go about your life.(and seriously, don’t assume we know what’s going on, we don’t work for the IRS and we all are getting the run around).

As for me I filed 1/18 and was accepted 1/20. I lost my bars sometime around 2/1. I never called to bug them and I never received a letter. I was finally able to order my return transcript 2/19 and this morning I got a DDD of 2/24. I had health insurance all year and I have education credits.

                        Here’s what I went through.

I filed on Jan 19th with TT, bars disappeared Jan 30th and got 12c letter on the 9th of Feb. Damn healthcare.gov & irs put my efile in review because I have 2 1095A’s.. Apparently the irs only received my 1st 1095A and said my annual calculations were off. After faxing them both 1095A’s and having Tax Advocate Service contact me, I was finally able to order both transcripts this morning Friday Feb 19th which means my return has been processed but wmr still hasn’t updated as of today. TAS is a free service that the irs provides. When I spoke with TAS they told me about the mess of the 1095A’s and that a lot of people are having delays because of the healthcare.gov crap. So instead of waiting for irs to process your returns, call and ask for them to have a Tax Advocate contact you, they will expedite the entire process and get you your money back in 1-2 weeks instead of 4-6 by irs. Hopefully wmr will update tonight and get me a DDD for next week.. :/

Update this morning bars back & approved with DDD of Feb 24!

When I initially called to find out the delay after 21days the irs told me the 4-6weeks line. Don’t fall for it. Request to have a Tax Advocate contact you asap! Tell them the delay is creating a hardship for you! TAS will help, in my case 4-6weeks took only 1.

                                        @joshua

@Wait For It Dude Stop whining. You filed what in February? Here’s one for ya.

                                        Filed: 1/27 using TurboTax
                                        Accepted: 1/27
RETURN SEIZED: 1/30 because of Obamacare (apparently TurboTax had more seizures this year for this than any other tax preparation provider)
                                        Found out about it: 2/15
Wait for IRS letter because they had wrong address: 5-10 Business Days
Wait for IRS to process return: 21 MORE DAYS
                                        Refund after that: Anyone’s ballpark

So I am looking for my refund no sooner than March 23, 2016 – April 6, 2016 if I am lucky. And I filed on 1/27. So that is literally nearly 70 days I could be waiting for my refund after I filed on 1/27. So that is around 6-8 weeks so yeah. AND that is if I get lucky and they dont just decide to seize my entire refund like the greedy SOBs they are.

And the best part is that I made under the filing threshold and what not…was evicted and homeless last year for almost 2 weeks, so I am exempt in more ways than one. Dont qualify for State Insurance because I am 27 white male and not disabled.

My advice: Be patient and wait your turn like everyone else has too. AND DONT USE CAPS AND SOUND LIKE A DBAG AND MORE PEOPLE MIGHT HELP YOU. Gotta love caps
